Congressman Cresent Hardy (NV-4) today released details of his upcoming schedule, which takes him on a sweeping tour of the eastern rural area of the 4th Congressional District, face-to-face meetings with constituents, and a trip to examine American interests in Israel.image005

“When I’m able to get out here on the ground, not only do I feel most at home, but it’s actually where a lot of great ideas are generated – by my fellow Nevadans – that I then can take back to D.C. for action,”Hardy said. “It’s important for me to be talking to constituents constantly, whether it’s in North Las Vegas, Pahrump or the rural areas, and everywhere in between.”

Immediately upon arrival from the Capitol, the congressman will meet next week with small business leaders, convene a roundtable with Jewish community leaders, highlight transportation work in North Las Vegas, and meet with local and state officials regarding land issues.

A major focus of the next month will remain veterans issues, including the long-delayed VA clinic that thousands of Pahrump and Nye County veterans await.

While away from the Capitol, Congress is also considering the Obama Administration’s Iran nuclear agreement, a measure Hardy says he doesn’t take lightly. In a recent video, the congressman expressed his deep concern on the matter, as he digs into the details over the less than 60 days remaining for Congress to evaluate the proposed step.

The congressman’s trip to Israel, planned for the early-middle of the month, will better inform his consideration of the nuclear agreement, as he plans to see the implications for America’s close allies first-hand.

“While we’re in Israel, it’s important to me to hear from the top leadership there how a nuclear-armed Iran could destabilize the region, and threaten our allies and interests,” Hardy said. “We can’t let Iran win.”

Upon return from Israel, Hardy plans a slate of engagements, including a tour through the eastern rural portions of his district.

Additional details of Congressman Hardy’s schedule will be released as they become available.

Headed to Nevada, Hardy sees effective progress in first seven months

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Cresent Hardy (NV-4) departs the U.S. Capitol for Nevada this week, having pushed through the latest of dozens of hard-hitting bills that achieved real results and solved problems for Nevadans and the nation.

The House of Representatives disbands for the first break of this length since the beginning of the term; dubbed a “recess” for Congress, the House will reconvene the first week of September.

“Some people call this a ‘break’ — I don’t,” Hardy said.

“To me, this is another opportunity to explore the pressing matters that my constituents need me to focus on when Congress begins passing meaningful reforms again in September,” Hardy added. “That’s why I’ll be visiting small businesses, meeting personally with constituents and local leaders, and traveling to Israel, where I’ll be digging deep into the details of how this Congress can protect our allies and American interests in that region.”

In the first quarter of 2015, the House passed 193 bills, well above the forty-year average of 127. Of those, 32 passed the Senate – more than the twenty-five-year average of 29.

“Some of the most rewarding moments during this session have been in committee hearing rooms, where I am stunned time and again to hear witnesses articulate just how urgently they need us to act to overcome the burdensome regulations and unilateral roadblocks imposed by myriad federal agencies and this administration,” Hardy said. “We’re weekly identifying ways to open doors and kick down barriers to opportunity at the local level. And the people in the 4th district are telling me we’re finally headed in the right direction.”

Among the bills passed, many with bipartisan support, were successes targeted at meeting Nevada’s unique needs and upholding its Western-state ideals.

“We’ve achieved so much for small businesses, seniors, veterans and our rural communities in such a short time,” Hardy added. “We’re putting aside politics and passing solid solutions to cut top-down regulations – giving individuals and families the freedom they need to pursue success on their own terms, and in their own way.”

In his first seven months in office, Rep. Hardy championed, cosponsored and voted in favor of bills to help Nevada’s communities and the country see better opportunities – here are some highlights:
