Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for July 12-18, 2015.

July 12:

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd residence reference possible domestic violence between a couple. Officers later arrested the male for domestic violence the female was cited and released for domestic violence.

Stolen Vehicle: An Officer responded to a Jade St residence and took a report of a stolen vehicle.

Information was obtained concerning the theft and a report completed.

Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to an E First South St residence for a report family disturbance. An investigation from the disturbance to be verbal only, concerning the discipline of the children. Involved parties separated for a cooling off period.

Keep The Peace: Officers assisted family in keeping the peace. Follow up involvement from a previous call.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to an accident at W Mesquite Blvd & N Arrowhead Ln which involved a vehicle and pedestrian. The pedestrian was later transported to the hospital.

July 13:

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to a suspicious package on Gean St; the package contained a controlled substance.  The package was taken to be destroyed.

July 14:

Background Investigation: An officer conducted a business license background check for a business.

Lost Property: Officer took a report of lost property on E Old Mill Rd.

July 15:

Vandalism: An officer took a report of vandalism at a Marilyn Pkwy park.

Controlled Substance Problem: Detectives received an anonymous tip regarding a violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act on W Pioneer Blvd.

Traffic Violation: An officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at Smokey Ln & Riverside Rd and observed open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle. The adult male driver was issued a citation for open container and released with a court date.

July 16:

Parking Problem: Vehicle was tagged a second time for a parking violation on Megan Cir.

Wanted Person: Detective arrested a female with an active felony warrant at W Pioneer Blvd & Turtleback Rd. The female was transported to the Mesquite Detention Center without incident.

Information Report: Officer spoke with a Lavender Ln resident who had questions regarding firearms laws.

Search Warrant: A search warrant was conducted on a S Arrowhead Ln residence. Adult male was issued several citations for animal control related violations.

Verbal Dispute IP: An officer was dispatched to a Sunvalley Dr apartment complex, in reference to a verbal argument.  A female adult subject was taken into custody for breach of peace.

Driving Under the Influence: Officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple traffic violations on W Pioneer Blvd. One adult female was arrested for DUI and traffic offenses.

July 17:

Domestic Violence IP: Officers were dispatched to a Mesa Blvd apartment complex reference a possible domestic violence incident in progress. After investigation female subject was taken into custody for an unrelated warrant.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd traffic accident on private property. One adult female was arrested for DUI, leaving scene of traffic accident, suspended DL.

Domestic Violence IP: Police responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino for a report of domestic battery. An adult male was arrested for domestic battery, and an adult female was arrested on an unrelated Mesquite Municipal Court warrant.

Minor Gambling: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a minor gambling. The minor was identified, issued a citation for minor gambling, and released with a court date.

July 18:

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male for a warrant from Mesquite Municipal Court.

Found Person: A juvenile female subject, who had been reported as a runaway from Arizona, was located in Mesquite on W Hafen Lane.

Fighting: Police responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a fight involving multiple female adults. The suspects left the scene prior to officers’ arrival. An officer’s report was completed, and officers are attempting to locate the suspects.
