TUESDAY: MID SUMMER BLUES
It’s mid summer on the calendar and only a few MMGA players signed up for play on Tuesday at Falcon Ridge. At the end of the day there was not much to talk about other than Bubba Petrick. He shot an unattractive round of 36-45-81for fourth low net (71) and was rewarded with 200 “fed-ex” points. His fine playing the last two weeks has jumped him into 4th place. As we near the half way point in the summer net tournament it appears that all contenders are shooting for the second place finish and everyone is conceding first place to Andrew Yeh. Yeh played a quiet 18 holes Tuesday recording 34-38-72 for medalist with the next best round 80 posted by Dave Jordan’s 41-39-80.

THURSDAY: RUNDLE TRIES TO UPSET YEH
The MMGA was on the road Thursday playing at Coral Canyon. Andrew Yeh had his normal round of 38-38-76 with two birdies to earn medalist honors. However, on again, off-again Hal Rundle was in a groove this day. Today his on-again round consisted of a 39 on the front and 40 strokes on the back for a very nice 79 just three shots from upsetting Yeh. Don Mannon also was at peace in his golfing world shooting a front side 41 and a back of 39 for a nice score of 80 for third place. He was also rewarded with first place low net with his 65. One shot back with a net 66 was Rundle and three shots from that, in third place was Dan Trower (91) and net 69.

The next scheduled play is Tuesday, July 21st at Coyote Springs at 8:30 and Thursday July 23rd at the Canyons at 7:00. Always check your sig up sheets for any corrected times or places. Anyone interested in joining the MMGA can call 346-6363. Also check out our website at www.mesquitemensgolf.com.
