Saturday, August 1 is the 10th Annual Mesquite Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament being held at the Conestoga Golf course. This year’s event has a number of changes both on and off the course to make the tournament the “MUST ATTEND EVENT OF THE SEASON!” The Chamber solicited the Mesquite Business community for help and support of the event. The support has been fantastic with one Gold Sponsor, a Beverage Cart Sponsor and four Silver Sponsors.

sun city mesquite logoSUN CITY MESQUITE by DEL WEBB – GOLD SPONSOR: Sun City Mesquite by Del Webb is the fastest growing development in Mesquite. SCM by Del Webb is owned by the Pulte Group which is a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest home builders in America! Sun City Mesquite takes a leadership role in our community. They believe in helping their neighbors. They support numerous charities like Mesquite Cancer Help Society, Mesquite Veterans Center, Mesquite Reading Initiative, Southern Nevada Symphony, Mesquite Food Bank and the Mesquite Relay for Life just to name a few! SCM believes in a strong Chamber of Commerce and a strong business community.

LOADTEC 2014-2 logoLOADTEC – BEVERAGE CART SPONSOR: Dave Ballweg President of LOADTEC says “I have a business in Mesquite but I don’t do business in Mesquite!” So why would a company decide to locate its business in Mesquite? LOADTEC manufactures on site power generation equipment for customers around the world. Dave saw Mesquite as the perfect place to headquarter his 30 year old business with reasonably priced land, room for expansion, easy interstate access and a great community! While Dave and LOADTEC may not sell their units here in town, Dave is a HUGE supporter of the community. Dave believes we need a strong Chamber to support the business community. Dave makes many donations to the community (most recently the 15 scholarships for the VVHS graduates) but he helps behind the scene as well. Dave is a big supporter of Mesquite We Care for Animals with his Roxy project that funds micro-chipping every dog adopted by WCFA. While not a golfer and not doing business in Mesquite, Dave still believes in being part of the community. Supporting the Chamber as a major sponsor is one of Dave’s way of giving back.

dixieOphthalmicSpecialist-logoDIXIE OPHTHALMIC SPECIALISTS- SILVER SPONSOR: Based out of St. George Utah, Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists at Zion Eye Institute set up an office here to serve the Mesquite community. Dixie Ophthalmic is one of 50 ophthalmology-driven ambulatory surgery centers in the country. While the surgeries are done in St. George, the initial consults and follow up care is provided here in Mesquite. Dixie Ophthalmic offers a full range of vision and eye care support. Dr Ahee and the staff in Mesquite are very knowledgeable with all the current technology providing a professional approach to all your eye care needs.

farmers logoFARMERS INSURANCE- SILVER SPONSOR:
Bill Mitchell and Farmers Insurance are no strangers to supporting Mesquite. Farmers Insurance has been a long time supporter of the Chamber of Commerce dating back to when Bill’s father ran the agency. Bill is a prior Chamber board member and while there have been many changes in membership and personnel due to the roller coaster economy a few years back, Bill likes the direction the Chamber is headed. Bill and Farmers Insurance are always ready to lend their help and support. Last year, Farmers sponsored the $5000 Putting Green contest. When tournament organizers suggested a $10,000 Hole in One contest for this year’s event, Bill stepped right up to make it happen. Countless are the times that Bill Mitchell and Farmers Insurance support the Mesquite community.

fntic_logoFIDELITY NATIONAL TITLE- SILVER SPONSOR: Fidelity National Title established an office in Mesquite in 1993 across from City Hall. They became a Chamber member in 1995. In 2007 they moved to their current location on Pioneer Blvd. The office is staffed by Jennifer Melchor, Dave Bennett, Esteban Andrade and Jamae Amen. In addition to providing valuable title service to Mesquite Fidelity supports Little League softball and the local 4-H club. Fidelity buys a pig from the 4-H fair then donates it to VVHS Football team for their Luau fundraiser! Dave Bennett knows a good deal when he sees one! He and Fidelity were the “first chamber members to sign up as a silver sponsor.” Dave said, “it was a no brainer- we put 2 teams in last year’s outing and for a couple bucks more we became a Silver sponsor, increased our Chamber member level, got a hole sponsorship and all the benefits of this year’s tournament!” After the big downturn in housing a few years back that hurt local businesses and Chamber membership, Dave sees a bright future for Mesquite and the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce.

primex_logoPRIMEX PLASTICS CORPORATION – SILVER SPONSOR:  Primex Plastics is a plastic fabricator company operating in the customized plastic sheet extrusion industry. Owned by ICC Industries (ranked 158th in Forbes 2014 list of largest privately held companies) Primex is one of Mesquite’s major light industrial manufacturers. Primex is celebrating its 50-year anniversary this year. The Mesquite facility is one of five Primex locations. “Large enough to handle your requirements, small enough to handle your needs” is the company motto which pretty well sums up their continued growth and success. As a major employer for Mesquite, Primex is one of those unsung heroes in our community. They sit up on the hill doing their thing while utilizing our local Mesquite businesses to help Primex be successful. Most people don’t realize the “run off effect” a business like Primex brings to our community. Providing steady employment, good paying jobs and benefits along with purchasing from local suppliers gives Primex a stable influence in the business community.

Thank you to all our major sponsors, hole sponsors and all the volunteers that are working hard to make the 10th Annual Mesquite Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament a huge success!
