Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for May 31-June 6, 2015.

May 31:

Dead Body: An Officer responded to a Mesa Blvd apartment complex for a report of a deceased person. The Coroner’s office was contacted and the death was found to be due to health reasons.

Lost Property: Officers responded to a Second South St residence concerning missing property.  After speaking to family members the property was still not located.  A report was taken.

Stolen Vehicle: An Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd Casino and took a report of a stolen vehicle. Information was obtained and the theft is under investigation.

June 1:

Traffic Stop: Officer on W Pioneer Blvd conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling at night with no headlights on. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and open container of alcohol.

Vandalism: Officers responded to a report of vandalism at a commercial building on W Mesquite Blvd.

Vandalism: Police responded to vandalism of an Emily Way home under construction. A report was taken.

Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the intersection of Sandhill Blvd and I-15 SB off ramp.  One male driver was taken to Mesa View Hospital, the other female driver was issued a citation.

Lost Property: An officer took a report of a lost firearm.

Disturbance of School: Student was cited and released to parents for disturbance at school.

Disturbance of School: Student attempted to take his phone back from a teacher by force, who had taken it away from the student. Student was cited for disturbance at school.

Wanted Person: Officers responded to a civil dispute. The female was taken into custody for a Mesquite Justice Court warrant.

June 2:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to Hardy Way for a two vehicle accident without injuries, a report was taken.

Theft: Police responded to a shoplifting report at a W Pioneer Blvd store. One adult female was issued a citation for petit larceny and released with a court date.

June 3:

Lost Property: Officer took a lost property report over the telephone.

June 4:

Fraud: Report taken for fraud on Sun Valley Dr. No suspect(s) information.

Wanted Person: Person on N Sandhill Blvd arrested on two misdemeanor bench warrants.

Wanted Person: An adult female located at Riverside Rd & White Rock Rd was arrested for an active Mesquite Municipal Court warrant.

Attempt to Locate: Officers contacted a runaway juvenile out of Twin Falls, Idaho on E Mesquite Blvd. The juvenile was arrested for taking a vehicle without owners consent.

*EMS* Stab/Gunshot/Penetration: Officers responded to a Valley View Dr school reference a report of a stabbing involving two non-student adults. The adult male suspect was arrested, and the victim received medical attention.

June 5:

Fraud: Officers investigated a suspicious situation involving multiple subjects in a N Sandhill Blvd store with possible stolen or fraudulent credit cards. Two subjects arrested in connection with the fraud.

Minor Gambling: An officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference an age verification of a patron. A 20-year-old male was issued a citation for minor gambling.

June 6:

Agency Assistance: An officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd hotel, in reference to a deceased person.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to an Emily Wy residence regarding a domestic disturbance. Officers investigated the incident and determined it to be a verbal argument between husband and wife. The parties agreed to separate for a few days.

Theft: Officer responded to a W Pioneer Blvd store reference a shoplifting call. A local female was issued a citation for Petit Larceny and released with a court date.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to an incident of domestic violence between roommates on W Mesquite Blvd. At the conclusion of the investigation, one female subject was taken into custody for domestic battery.

Trespassing: Police responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a trespass violator. An adult male was issued a citation for trespassing and released.

Driving Under the Influence: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense at Riverside Rd & Second South St, and observed the driver to be impaired. The adult male driver was arrested for DUI and other traffic offenses.
