Mesquite Fire Rescue Weekly Call Statistics May 25 – 31, 2015

Mesquite Fire & Rescue submits the following call statistics for the week of 5/25/15 through 5/31/2015:

Total Calls For Service: 64* (Compared to 34 in 2014)
911 Transports: 27
Non Transports: 13
Inter-facility Transports: 16
Fire Related Incidents: 9

FIRE LOG:

5/25/15

  • E-11, R-31, & Chief 2 Responded to a reported vehicle fire in the area of First South Street and Arrowhead. Arrived in the area to find a semi truck with the cab fully involved with fire. Fire quickly extinguished with no damage to nearby vehicles or structure. The circumstances were deemed suspicious enough to warrant an opening an investigation which is still ongoing.

5/27/15

  • T-31, Chief 2 Responded to a fire alarm on Pulsipher Ln. Arrived to find no evidence of smoke or fire. Alarm reset without further issue.
  • T-31, E-11, Chief 2 Responded to a residence in Sunset Greens for a report of a vehicle on fire in the driveway. Arrived to find heavy smoke showing from an SUV and the owner attempting to put the fire out with a garden hose. Fire quickly extinguished although the vehicle is likely still a total loss.

5/28/15

  • B-Shift performed fire drills at Virgin Valley High School and Virgin Valley Elementary, and Charles Hughes Middle School.

5/29/15

  • T-11, R-11 Responded to an apartment complex on Riverside Road for a reported fire on the stove. Arrived to find no smoke or fire. Kitchen utensil had burned while in a pot on the stove.  No extension of the fire to the structure.

5/30/15

  • E-11, T-31, E-31, R-11, R-12, Chief 2, Beaver Dam E-11 Responded to a structure fire on Canyon View Way. Arrived to find heavy smoke showing from the garage. Able to quickly gain access to the garage and knock the fire down before it was able to extend to the house. Garage completely destroyed but damage to interior of house minimal. Investigation ongoing.

Non Transports include: Patient refusals, lift assists, patient deceased at scene, no patient found, no incident found, and Incidents handled by other agencies.

*Call totals do not always add up to the Total Calls for Service due to multiple patients/incident types at a single incident.
