When I Was a Child

On Saturday, June 20 at 10 a.m., The Virgin Valley Heritage Museum will present a class on writing for the child’s ear. Geraldine Zarate, a local historian, author and artist, will provide direction on how to write histories for children and grandchildren.

Many of the early settlers of the Virgin Valley recorded their joys and challenges of life for future generations.  Many of those histories are contained in the Museum’s reference library, The Verde and Nora Reference Library.  More contemporary histories are also in the library.

The class will be in the art classroom next to the Museum.  Admission is free.

For more information about this event and the Museum, find us on Facebook at  MesquiteNVMuseum or stop by the Museum at 35 W. Mesquite Blvd.  The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  1. dear future reader, I am writing from 2015, I want to tell you of my means of survival for an average day… I start with a pop-tart, check face book for kitty posts and then i am off to my remedial job. after my part -time job (because full time is not available anymore due to insurance requirement for the companies ) I watch nothing on my 250 channels… It was ruff.but, i did survive!

I love the hard work that history proves is capable. I also pray that the future generations are able to see past the ways of the kardashions as that is what the media seems to idolize and present as acceptable
