Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for May 3 – 9, 2015.

May 3:

Suspicious/Person: Officers responded to a suspicious person call on Prosperity Ln, after an investigation one adult arrest was made.

Lost Property: Police took a report for a lost credit card and driver license on E Pioneer Blvd.

May 4:

Truancy: A truant student was cited for truancy.

Stolen Vehicle: An officer responded to the police department lobby in reference to a stolen vehicle.

Truancy: A truant student was cited for truancy.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An Officer took a report of suspicious activity on City property at Hillside Drive.

Traffic Stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop at W Mesquite Blvd & N Grapevine Rd.  The adult male driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant, possession of marijuana, and traffic offenses.

Agency Assistance: Detectives assisted DEA with an ongoing investigation within the City of Mesquite area.

May 5:

Graffiti: An Officer responded to the report of graffiti markings on First South Street; a report was taken.

Lost Property: An Officer responded to the lobby of the Police Department and took a lost property report.

Prowler: Officer responded to a Hermosa Way residence reference a possible prowler. Officers gathered information and the investigation is on going.

May 6:

Disorderly Conduct: Officers arrested an intoxicated female for breach of peace.

Theft: Officers were dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd store reference a theft of property. The suspects were immediately located with the stolen item and arrested. The property was returned to owner.

Wanted Person: Female was contacted and placed under arrest for a currant warrant.

May 7:

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers contacted two adult females, at a E Pioneer Blvd hotel, in reference to an agency assist follow up investigation.  One of the adult females was cited and released for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Abuse/Neglect: Parent was charged with contributing to the delinquency and neglect of her child.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to the police department, in reference to a theft that had occurred in Las Vegas.  A courtesy report was taken.

Theft-Bicycle: An officer was dispatched to a Jensen Dr address, in reference to a stolen bicycle.

May 8:

Trespassing: Male subject was arrested for trespassing from an E Pioneer Blvd casino.

Driving Under the Influence: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a reported DUI driver at E Old Mill Rd & Mimosa Way. The driver was DUI and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd business’ parking lot, in reference to a minor traffic accident without injuries.

Fraud: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd pharmacy on a report of prescription fraud. One adult female was arrested based on the investigation.

Driving Under the Influence: An officer conducted a traffic stop at E First South St & S Willow St on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The adult female driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested for DUI.

May 9:

Graffiti: Police found Graffiti spray painted on bench along trail system at S Hafen & Town Wash. Vandalism documented. Work request completed to have graffiti removed.

Graffiti: Police found graffiti spray painted on structure on south Riverside Road at the bridge. Graffiti was documented and a work request was completed for removal.

Lost Property: An officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Justice Facility, in reference to a lost property report.

Keep The Peace: An officer was dispatched to a Riverside Rd apartment complex, in reference to a keep the peace call.

Driving Under the Influence: An officer conducted a stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation at Canyon Crest Blvd & Kensington Ave. The adult male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested for DUI, minor consumption of alcohol, and a traffic offense.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to an intoxicated male lying in the roadway at W Hafen Ln & Lavender Ln.  Subject was issued a citation and released with a court date.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino for a report of several males acting suspiciously. One male subject refused to leave after being read the trespass warning and was subsequently taken into custody for trespass violation.

Petit Larceny: Officers responded to the Eureka Casino reference a larceny from a person.
