On May 6, 2015 a baby donkey was born at about 10 p.m. at the Satellite adoption Center for peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue in Scenic, AZ. The proud mother is Fernie, a donkey from the Sheldon Refuge near Reno, Nevada. The baby is a girl; she is predominately gray in color with a white star. She also proudly displays the “Donkeys Cross,” a narrow strip of hair that runs down her back and each shoulder in a darker shade than the rest of her coat. This naturally makes the shape of a cross.
