On April 30, 2015 the Mesquite Police Department assisted JL Bowler Elementary School with their Career Field Day.  JL Bowler’s Kindergarten classes had the opportunity to hear presentations and learn about seatbelt safety, traffic safety, and police dogs. Sergeant Mike VanHouten shared a fun activity with the children about stop signs and seatbelts. Officer Justin Goodsell gave the children a presentation about his “Beat the Heat” race car and traffic safety. Officer Quinn Averett showed a demonstration with his K9 partner Noro and answered questions about police dogs. The Kindergarten classes and the Police Department had a lot of fun!  Thanks J.L. Bowler Elementary for inviting us to your Career Field Day.
