The Virgin Valley High School boy and girl track teams competed at the annual Boulder City Small School Invite May 1. The annual meet is used as a warm up for Southern Division 1-A competition beginning May 8 at Boulder City High School. Fifteen small schools from Division 1-A, and below competed in the meet. The Bulldog men placed 8th and the Ladies had a 9th place finish.

The Bulldog men scored 42 points in the meet led by Kai Mitchell with a fifth place finish in the 300 meter hurdles and placing fourth in the high jump, Chase Henderson with fifth place in both the shot and discus throws and Charles Erickson with a second place finish in the pole vault.

On the ladies’ side, Kaydee Bingham led the Dawgs with a second in the 200 meter, fourth in the 100 meter and an eighth in the 400 meter dashes. Bulldog senior Taylor Bryant a favorite to score high in the 100 meter hurdles and pole vault did not compete. “Kaydee Bingham led the way for the girls and I thought Kai Mitchell and Charles Erickson did well on the boy’s side,” said Bulldog coach Gary Hartman. “Taylor Bryant did not compete due to an injury but will compete in the regional meet this weekend.”
