Streets of Mesquite April 26 – May 2, 2015

Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.
This week, there were 197 total incidents in the blotter:

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for April 26 – May 2, 2015.

April 26:

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officers responded to a non-injury traffic accident on N Sandhill Blvd. One adult male driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, two arrest warrants, and other offenses.  An additional adult male was arrested for obstruction.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd residence for a possible domestic, the incident was determined to be a verbal argument.

Stolen Property: Police took a report for a purse stolen from a W Mesquite Blvd restaurant.

Welfare Check: An officer responded to a N Grapevine Rd residence for a welfare check of children, no problems were found.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd residence for a report of a fight. One individual was arrested for domestic battery.

TPO/Restraining Order/Subpoena: An officer served a Protection Order on an individual in the Mesquite Detention Center.

Minor Gambling: Mesquite Officers conducted an identification check on a female at an E Pioneer Blvd casino. The female was cited and released for minor gambling.

April 27:

Stolen Property: Police responded to a theft at a W Pioneer Blvd business. A report was taken and officers are attempting to locate the missing items.

Fraud: An Officer responded to a W Pioneer Blvd business, reference an attempt to purchase merchandise with counterfeit bills. The bills were obtained and the incident is under investigation.

Phone Harassment: Police took a report for harassment. The victim was given information on how to obtain a protection order.

Wanted Person: Female taken into custody on Hillside Dr. for appearing at status check intoxicated.

April 28:

Controlled Substance Problem: Mesquite Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd business reference drugs. Officers arrested a female adult for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Citizen Assist: Officers responded to assist a citizen on Riverside Rd with questions regarding a prior case.

Person On Foot: Police arrested an adult male at Second South St & Hawk St with an active misdemeanor warrant out of the Municipal Court of Mesquite.

Civil Dispute: Officers responded to a Palos Verdes Dr residence in reference to a verbal dispute among family.

Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to an Oakmont Ct residence for a report of an individual inside the resident’s vehicle. Officers made contact with a male suspect inside the vehicle. The male suspect was arrested for property damage.

April 29:

Truancy: Truant student was cited for truancy. X3

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer received a complaint of property damage on Tucson St to a vehicle that occurred the week prior. Victim requested and incident number for insurance purposes.

Threatening: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino on threats made buy a guest to hotel staff. The male was trespassed and escorted off the property without further incident.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a report of possible domestic violence on Colleen Ct. After investigation one male subject was taken into custody and one female subject was issued a citation and released for domestic battery.

April 30:

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer was dispatched to a Hitching Post Pt residence, in reference to an adult female who possibly over-dosed. The adult female was found unconscious and non-responsive. The adult female was transported to the hospital for medical attention. Drug paraphernalia was located in the same location. Female was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Civil Matter: Officers responded to a reported civil matter on Canyon Dr. Both parties were advised to have no contact with each other. Nothing further.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to private property accident with no reported injuries on W Hafen Ln. A driver’s exchange form was completed and provided to each party.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to a Sun Valley Dr. residence reference a property damage vehicle accident that occurred on an earlier date.

May 1:

Controlled Substance Problem: An adult male on Riverside Rd was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia, and released with a court date.

Stolen Property: An officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd address, in reference to a theft.

Lost Property: Report taken for lost debit card.

Stolen Property: Property stolen from an E Pioneer Blvd hotel room.

Minor Gambling: An officer was dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd casino, in reference to a minor gambling.

Trespassing: An officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a trespass violator. The adult male involved was issued a citation and released with a court date.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a report of a minor gambling. An adult male under the age of 21 was issued a citation for minor gambling and released with a court date.

May 2:

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference an adult under the age of 21 gambling. The adult female was issued a citation for minor gambling and released with a court date.

Fraud: Officer responded to Mesa View Hospital and took a report of fraudulent prescriptions. Information was gathered and an investigation started.

Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to a Bertha Howe Ave business reference an intoxicated male. The adult male was taken into civil protective custody due to the level of his intoxication.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a Bertha Howe Ave business reference a male adult causing a disturbance. The male adult was arrested for breach of peace.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers arrested an uncooperative intoxicated male for breach of peace, intoxicated pedestrian on roadway, and resisting arrest on Grayce Dr.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino for a report of a trespass violator. Upon arrival officers made contact with a male who had been previously trespassed. The male subject was arrested for trespassing.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers cited and released an intoxicated male on W Mesquite Blvd for breach of peace.

Intoxicated Person: Officers contacted an adult male on W Mesquite Blvd who appeared to be extremely intoxicated and disoriented. The male was placed into civil protective custody.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference an adult under the age of 21 gambling. The adult male was issued a citation for minor gambling and released with a court date.
