Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

This week, there were 190 total incidents in the blotter:

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for April 5 – 11, 2015.

April 5:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a report of vandalism at the Stateline Casino Motel on W Mesquite Blvd.

April 6:

Citizen Assist: An Officer responded to the Police Department lobby in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle.

Traffic Stop: An officer observed a traffic violation on N Sandhill Blvd and after an investigation the driver was taken into custody.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd parking lot reference a suspicious vehicle.  The vehicle was stolen from Utah and officers recovered the vehicle.

Citizen Assist: Officers recovered personal property from a vehicle during a civil incident, the property was held for safekeeping.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business reference suspicious pry marks on a rear door.

April 7:

Minor Gambling: Officers cited and released a female for minor gambling on W Mesquite Blvd.

Stolen Vehicle: Officer’s responded to a Mesa Blvd business reference a report of a stolen vehicle. Officer’s gathered information and the investigation is ongoing.

Stolen Vehicle: Officers responded to a residence reference a report of a stolen vehicle. Officer gathered information and the investigation is ongoing.

Citizen Assist: An Officer responded to the Police Department, reference a citizen assist call. The female party was found to have a local warrant and arrested for the warrant.

Vandalism: Officer responded to N Yucca St for a report of property damage to a shade canopy on city property.

Theft from Vehicle: Police responded to a theft from vehicle in a Mesa Blvd parking lot. A crime report was taken.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Police recovered a vehicle on W Pioneer Blvd which had been reported stolen from an outside agency.

Petit Larceny: Mesquite Officers were dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd business in reference to a petit larceny. Officers gathered information and the investigation is ongoing at this time.

April 8:

Minor Gambling: A minor was issued a citation for minor gambling on E Pioneer Blvd.

Truancy: High School student cited and released for truancy.

Business or License Problem: Business License check.

Truancy: High School student cited and released for truancy.

Truancy: High School student was cited for truancy.

Abandoned Vehicle: The vehicle was removed from the roadway on Palmer Ln after verbal warning was given to the owner. The vehicle has not been removed and attempts were made to contact the owner.

Traffic Stop: Driver on N Sandhill Blvd was cited and the vehicle was impounded for multiple violations.

Theft: Officer responded to a report of stolen property from a Verllonia St residence. Item was taken from the front porch of the residence. Report was taken and investigation is ongoing.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to a citizen assist on Partridge Ln and recovered found drug paraphernalia to be destroyed.

Identification Check: An officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd casino, in reference to an ID check.  An adult subject was later cited and released for trespassing.

April 9:

Theft: Report taken for theft of groceries of a W Pioneer Blvd business. Investigation is ongoing.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to a Sun Valley Dr residence on a report of a minor consuming alcohol. One male was cited for providing alcohol, and one adult female was arrested for outstanding warrant, minor consumption, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lost Property: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd gas station on a report of a lost wallet. Written statement of wallet description was gathered and contact information for the victim.

Minor Gambling: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for a report of a minor gambling. Subject was issued a citation and release with a court date.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a report of a traffic accident with no reported injuries on Cottonwood Dr that occurred a couple hours prior. A written statement was gathered and reporting person requested incident number for insurance purposes.

April 10:

Minor Gambling: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for a report of a minor gambling. Subject was issued a citation and released with a court date.

Traffic Stop: Traffic stop on W Mesquite Blvd resulted with an arrest of a male passenger with local charges.

Fraud: An officer was dispatched to the police department, in reference to a fraud. The complainant received several telephone calls appearing to be some type of attempted fraud or scam.

Stolen Property: Student reported his unsecured cell phone was lost/stolen/missing during class.

Identity Theft: R/p reporting identity theft. Report was completed the R/p was provided an event number.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer was dispatched to a W Hafen Ln address, in reference to a traffic accident, which had occurred earlier.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd grocery store, in reference to a theft.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer was dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd intersection, in reference to a minor traffic accident, without injuries.

Theft From Vehicle: Victim reporting an item was take from within a secured vehicle on Mesa Blvd. The vehicle was damaged during the theft.

Wanted Person: An in-custody inmate was run for wants prior to her release and was found to have a Felony Warrant out of Mesquite Justice Court. The inmate was transported to Clark County Detention Center on the aforementioned warrant.

April 11:

Theft: Victim on Mesa Blvd reporting theft of money. The theft occurred approximately a week ago.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a N Grapevine Rd apartment complex, in reference to a property damage call.

Dead Body: An officer was dispatched to an E Camellia Circle residence in reference to a deceased person.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Person reported two vehicles on Mesa Blvd were vandalized during the night. Report taken.

Noise Disturbance: Officers responded to a Mesquite Springs Dr residence reference a noise complaint. An adult female was arrested for breach of peace.

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop at W First South St & Thistle St on a vehicle for a registration violation. The occupants attempted to discard a controlled substance during the stop. Two adult males were arrested for trafficking methamphetamine.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd apartment complex on a report of two males pushing and yelling in the parking lot. One adult male was arrested for domestic battery based on witness statements.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a Kitty Hawk Dr residence for a report of subjects being disorderly. One subject was cited for battery and another subject was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, both subjects released with a court date.
