TUESDAY:  SCHNICK TIES THEN BEATS YEH ON 2ND HDCP HOLE

For MMGA players Tuesday at Falcon Ridge it was a battle between the best back tee player vs. the best forward tee player.  Bill Schnick firing a nice even par round of 35 on the front side was two shots up on Andrew Yeh, 37 at the turn.  Yeh played two shots better on the back side and the two players ended up with rounds of 75.  Both players parred the 13th hole and when Yeh double bogeyed hole six, low medalist honors went to Schnick.  Bubba Petrick played his best round since coming off 4 or five surgeriesn shooting a solid one over par 36 on the front side.  He only had one bad hole, his favorite number 12, where he took a triple bogey eight, but finished the back side only five over for his 78.  Forward tee Aaron Kennard had a good eighteen holes of 39-40-79 to round out those players breaking 80.  Petrick and Kennard ended up tied for low net rounds with 65 and Petrick won it with a par four on hole 13.  Joel Reilly probably thought he was going to have a good day when he birdied his first two holes, the par five 16th and followed that with a birdie on 17.  He added one more birdie on hole 7 for a nice round of 85 and a net 66 for third.  Hal Rundle turned in his best 18 holes as a MMGA member with a 39-42-81 and was rewarded with 4th low net 67.  Clark Mitchell (83) netted a 69 for fifth and John Meyer with 84 took 6th with a net 70.

THURSDAY:  SCHNICK WINS SECOND STRAIGHT MEDALIST HONORS

For the second straight event and the second straight 75, forward tee player Bill Schnick won medalist honors with the MMGA at the CasaBlanca on Thursday.  But this time there was no tie he won it outright with a nice three over par 37-38-75.  One shot back was Tim Miller with an even par round 36 on the front and 40 on the back for 76.  One shot back of Miller was forward tee player Ken Ward with four birdies.  He actually recorded birdies on holes 14,15 and 16 that enabled him to shoot even par 36 on the back.  “For the last four rounds I thought I had lost my game “, is how Ward summed up his round.  “The three straight birdies gave me a whole lot of confidence as well”.  Neil Hendricks (78) was the other player to break 80.  Hendricks 78 was rewarded with low net honors with 66.  He beat out Roger Mueller (80) and net 67.  A tie for third low net was won by Tim Miller on the second handicap hole number 17 with a nice par while Willie Nelson (91) bogeyed for fourth.  Hal Rundle (85) won for the second straight day with a 69 for fifth.  Bubba Petrick (82) and net 70 found the last payoff.  Roger Mueller birdied two straight holes as did Hendricks and Miller but the three straight by Ward was the best birdie string of the day.
