In an effort to encourage family fitness, the Mesquite Senior Games Road Races and Fitness walk events on April 18 are open to runners of all ages and any child age 12 or younger, can run in the One-Mile Race for free with any paid road race registration.
“The Board of Directors made an exception last year to its age policy (athletes over 50), and this year is encouraging more family participation by allowing the children to run for free with a parent or guardian,” said Terri Rylander, president of the Mesquite Senior Games. “Participants of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to come out on this special day.”
The Road Races include a 10k, 5k and one-Mile race and the Fitness Walk is 0.75 to 6 miles. The start-finish is at the Mesquite Sports & Event Complex on the morning of Saturday, April 18.
