Cameron Hill, a Sun City resident who was arrested in February for multiple counts of burglary and related charges, is still housed at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.
Hill’s defense team has asked for a continuance in his case for the past few weeks.
Upon review of the CCDC inmate information, it appears that Hill is only formally being charged with one count of Attempted Burglary and one count of Possession of Burglary Tools, instead of the multiple counts he was arrested on. However, the MLN received some information that explains why.
According to the Las Vegas District Attorney’s office, Hill agreed to waive his preliminary hearing and “be bound to District Court under negotiations that he would plead guilty to a charge of Attempt Grand Larceny.”
“Every case is different and we have to charge according to what we believe can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt,” added Tess Driver, Executive Assistant in the DA’s Office.
According to the CCDC website, Hill’s next hearing for this case is on Thursday, April 30 at 1 p.m.
Mesquite Police Detective Sergeant John Woods stated to the MLN that there is an additional case that encompasses an estimated 14 other charges that has not been completed yet. The MLN will post more information as it becomes available.
How did things turn out for Cameron Hill at his April 30th hearing at the CCDC?
I repeat my question. How did things turn our for Cameron Hill at his April 30th hearing?
Sandy, he goes back to court on June 16 for sentencing.
So he must have plead guilty? To how many and what charges?
Just to the charges mentioned above. However, once this case and sentencing is finished, there should be another case with other charges pending. We won’t know anything more until late June…
Another question on the status on Cameron Hill. June 16th has come and gone and we have seen nothing in either local paper or Mesquite Local News about his sentencing. Many of us are guessing he was released for time served. Can you update us please?
