Pirates route Bulldogs 17-2

The Virgin Valley High School Bulldog baseball team continues to flounder as they were hammered by the Moapa Valley High School Pirates 17-2 Friday afternoon in the Pirates den. The Pirates rapped out 17 hits against the Bulldog hurlers while Pirate pitcher Riley Longman allowed only three Bulldog hits. The Pirates posted 4 runs in the first inning, 8 runs in the second and 5 runs in the fourth for their total 17 runs. The Bulldogs managed one run in the third and fifth inning for their total for the five inning game. The Bulldogs record fell to 1-19 for the season The Bulldogs host Sunrise Conference leader Boulder City High School Tuesday afternoon April 21 in the Dawg Pound. The always strong Eagles are 10-0 in conference play.

Bulldog softball team scuttled by Pirates 6-1

Errors continued to haunt the Bulldogs Friday afternoon at Moapa Valley as they dropped a 6-1 game to the Pirates. The Bulldogs scored one run in the first inning and led 1-0 after three innings of play. The Pirates put four runs on the scoreboard in the fourth inning aided by Bulldog errors. The Pirates added one run each in the fifth and sixth inning to make the final score 6-1. The Bulldogs managed to outhit the Pirates 8-5 as Bulldog thrower Adri Wakefield pitched well enough to win. Emma Barnum continued her hitting streak going 2-4 for the game. The Dawgs conference record fell to 3-7 four games behind the Pirates with 4 league games remaining. The Bulldogs host Boulder City Tuesday April 21. The Eagles are matching their male counterparts with a 10-0 conference record.

Bulldog lady swimmers fall to Eagles 200-77

The Virgin Valley High School girl swimmers were dominated by the Boulder City High School Eagles Friday afternoon in Boulder City by a score of 200-77. Placing for the Dawgs were Kallie Graves with a second in the 50 yard freestyle, Taylor Waite with a third in the 100 yard freestyle, Kennadi Ludvigson and Abi Martinez with second and third place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke respectively. The Dawgs swept the 1 meter springboard over the Eagles. Tracey Rowden placed first with teammates Mariah Munoz and Marisol Guzman taking second and third in that order.
