Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for March 15 – 21, 2015.
March 15:
Trespassing: Officers responded to a verbal argument between a male and female on Garnet Ln. The male was trespassed from the property.
Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle on Jackrabbit St. Upon arrival a male passenger was sleeping in the driver seat. After an investigation the adult male was charge with DUI (2nd) and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.
Trespassing: Patron was arrested for trespassing after he refused multiple times to leave an E Pioneer Blvd property.
Traffic Accident, w/ Injuries: Mesquite Officers responded to the intersection of Hillside Dr & N Sandhill Blvd reference a traffic accident with injuries.
Theft From Vehicle: Officer responded to a report of theft from a motor vehicle on W Pioneer Blvd. Two witness’ statements were gathered and the investigation is ongoing.
March 16:
Parking Problem: Mesquite Police were notified of a parking problem on E Pioneer Blvd. An Officer responded and placed a 24 hr parking violation notice, on the vehicle.
Graffiti: An Officer responded to the report of graffiti on W Mesquite Blvd. A report and photos were taken.
Graffiti: An Officer located graffiti on the walking trail at W First North St. A report and photos were taken.
Traffic Stop: Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on N Sandhill Blvd. One adult male was arrested for multiple traffic offenses and obstructing an officer. The male was booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.
Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on Pheasant Dr who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
Wanted Person: Officers arrested a female on Riverside Rd who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on Rivers Bend Dr who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
March 17:
Person W/Gun: Officer’s responded to W Pioneer Blvd for a report of a male subject inside the store, who was armed and had removed the weapon from the holster. The involved male was identified and had not removed the weapon from its holster as originally reported.
Trespassing: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business reference a collapsed male on the grass. The male was intoxicated and trespassed by the business. The male refused to leave and was arrested for trespassing.
March 18:
Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer was dispatched to W Mesquite Blvd & Riverside Rd in reference to a minor traffic accident without injuries.
Wanted Person: Officers responded to the local hospital on Bertha Howe Ave regarding a male refusing to leave. Dispatch confirmed a warrant for his arrest and he was booked into jail without incident.
Animal Bite: Officer responded to animal bite on W Mesquite Blvd.
Juvenile Problem: Officers responded to a juvenile problem on Desert Dr. One juvenile male was cited for curfew.
March 19:
Background Investigation: Business Background check for peddler/solicitors permit.
Truancy: Officer’s responded to Hughes Middle School on W Hafen Ln reference a student that has been truant.
Background Investigation: Conduct Business license background for privilege license on N Sandhill Blvd.
Theft: An officer was dispatched to a Sea Pines St residence in reference to a theft.
Controlled Substance Problem: A vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation at S Grapevine Rd & Second South St. Drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle which was later destroyed. This case is an ongoing investigation.
Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer was dispatched to a S Arrowhead Ln parking lot in reference to a single vehicle traffic accident without injuries.
Disorderly Conduct: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business on a report of breach of peace. A written statement was gathered and follow up is being done to contact the suspect.
March 20:
Administrative Report: An officer was dispatched to the police department in reference to a suspicious situation.
Found Property: Officer took report of a found cell phone on Reber Dr. Owner was located and phone was returned.
Wanted Person: Officer contacted and arrested a Wildfang Way resident on an active bench warrant issued by the Municipal Court of Mesquite.
March 21:
Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on Falcon Ridge Pkwy who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a Lilac Ct residence reference a property damage report. The adult male complainant reported to officers some of his personal property had been damaged, but did not wish to pursue charges against the suspect. An officer’s report was completed as a matter of record.
