Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for March 1 – 7, 2015.

March 1:

Found Property: An adult male reported finding a wallet on the side of W Mesquite Blvd. The male turned over the wallet to police during a routine traffic stop.

March 2:

Civil Dispute: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd residence on reports of an argument.  After an investigation, the couple was separated.

Theft From Vehicle: An Officer responded to the Police Department lobby and took a report of the theft of items from a vehicle. Information was received and a report completed.

Theft: Police responded to a theft of yard furniture and plants at a Mesa Springs Dr residence. A report was taken.

Welfare Check: An officer conducted a welfare check on Sun Valley Dr of a child in reference to a civil matter over custody.  The child was in good condition.

Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle driving on the sidewalk on W Mesquite Blvd, the vehicle was impounded.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd convenient store reference a male adult trespassing. Upon arrival officers arrested the male for unlawful trespass.

Traffic Stop: Officers arrested a female on Smokey Ln for possession of stolen property.

March 3:

Trespassing: A male was found trespassing in an E Pioneer Blvd casino by Security. Security signed a complaint. The male was cited and released. He left without any further incident.

Truancy: Officer received a report of truancy from the Dean of Students at the high school. A citation was issued.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to the intersection of Old Mill Rd and Sandhill Blvd reference a non-injury traffic accident.  After an investigation, one driver was cited for due care.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Mesquite Police responded to a single vehicle accident at W Pioneer Blvd & Redd Hills Pkwy, where a vehicle had left the roadway and entered a pond. Driver of the vehicle was unable to exit the vehicle before it submerged. The accident is under investigation.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An Officer responded to the intersection of Falcon Ridge Parkway and Pioneer Blvd for a two vehicle non injury accident. A report was taken and citation issued.

Wanted Person: A female was arrested in an E Pioneer Blvd casino due to an outstanding warrant.

Wanted Person: Mesquite Officer arrested a female adult on W Pioneer Blvd for two outstanding warrants.

March 4:

Truancy: Dean of Students advised Officer of a truant student on E First South St. Officer conducted a home visit and transported juvenile to school. Citations were issued.

Reckless Driver: An officer was dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd address, in reference to a reckless driver. The driver was later located at his residence and cited for possession of marijuana under 1 ounce.

Truancy: Dean of Students advised Officer of a habitual truant. A citation was issued and the student was released to his guardian with a court date.

Fraud: Officer received call from victim that stolen credit card was used at Mesquite, Wal-Mart.  Officer took report and investigation continues.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the lobby of the police department for a report of a citizen assist. The officer answered questions regarding how to obtain a restraining order.

March 5:

Truancy: The Dean of Students advised the Officer of a habitual truant student. Student was cited for truancy and was given a court date.

Graffiti: Officers responded to a report of graffiti being found on a W Hafen Ln structure.  Officers gathered physical evidence from the scene and investigation is ongoing.

Truancy: The Dean of Students advised the Officer of a habitually truant student. A citation and court date were issued.

Stolen Vehicle: An officer was dispatched to a Leavitt Ln address in reference to a stolen trailer.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer was dispatched to a Lonesome Dove Dr residence in reference to damage to a vehicle.

Fraud: Officer Received call from a Lisa Ln resident wanting to report a possible scam.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd store, in reference to a theft.  A female juvenile was cited for petit larceny and released to her father.

Animal Noise: Officers responded to a Piute St residence reference an animal noise complaint.  The owner of the dog was issued a citation and released with a court date.

Burglary: Officers responded to an Aztec Circle residence reference a possible burglary. The scene was processed, and an investigation is ongoing.

Wanted Person: An officer responded to a neighborhood in the area of Marilyn Pkwy & Appletree Ln reference a suspicious intoxicated male. The male was arrested for an active Mesquite Municipal Court warrant.

March 6:

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer on W Hafen Ln located a suspicious vehicle on a golf course cart path. The adult female occupant was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and was arrested.

Welfare Check: Officer conducted a welfare check with a student on Valley View Dr. The Officer transferred the student to the school counselor for further assistance.

Truancy: Officer conducted a welfare check on a habitually truant student on E First North St. Student was found in his bedroom sleeping. Student was cited for truancy and transported to school.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer was a witness to a two vehicle accident on N Sandhill Blvd. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the driver who caused the accident. At the conclusion of the investigation the driver was arrest for driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, and open container.

March 7:

Agency Assistance: Police assisted Mohave County Sheriffs in obtaining a blood sample from an occupant of a traffic accident.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a suspicious car at a Sun Valley Dr apartment complex.  After an investigation, one male adult was transported to Mesquite Detention center for DUI drugs.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Police responded to a non-injury traffic accident at N Sandhill Blvd & E Old Mill Rd. A driver information exchange form was completed and a report was taken.

Driving Under the Influence: Police responded to a minor traffic accident in a parking lot on E Pioneer Blvd. One adult male was arrested for DUI alcohol and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a minor female gambling. Officers cited and released the female for minor gambling.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers cited and released a male for breach of peace on Hardy Way.

Suicidal Person: An officer responded to a Palos Verdes Dr residence in reference to a suicidal person.
