John Jacob Lucero, Sr., age 92, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 in Mesquite, Nevada.  He was born August 6, 1922 in Pueblo, Colorado to Fred and Erma Melinda Arellano Lucero. Lucero, John Obit
John grew up in Pueblo and later Denver, Colorado.  He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the European Theater.  After the war, he settled in Las Vegas Nevada.  He was a proud Iron Worker and enjoyed working on the big hotels.  He retired to Mesquite, Nevada in 1993 where he enjoyed spending time at the senior center.  He always loved his ‘68 red Mustang.  He passed his love of learning onto his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter, John Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; Billy of Mesquite, NV; Rita (Blaine) Hardy of Mesquite, NV; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one sister, Diane.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his honor on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the La Virgen de Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mesquite.  Visitation will be Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Virgin Valley Mortuary.  Interment will follow in the Mesquite City Cemetery.  Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.virginvalleymortuary.com
