James Matthew (Jim) McMurray, Jr., age 78, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in Mesquite, Nevada.  He was born July 30, 1936 in Pontiac, Michigan to James Matthew and Mary DeBeau McMurray.  On December 22, 1979 he married Dorothy Carlson in Midvale, Utah.
Jim grew up in the Bay Area of California.  He raised his family there, working for Frito-Lay as a salesman.  In 1978 he moved to Salt Lake City and worked for RJ Reynolds and retired to Mesquite in 2006.  Jim enjoyed bowling, watching and playing sports and he loved golfing.  He will be remembered for his love of life and contagious laugh.  MLN-Fatality12mar5-15
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Mesquite; one son and two daughters: Sheryl (Robert) Jackson of PA; Sue McMurry of Fresno, CA; Thomas (Laurie) of Pleasanton, CA; three step daughters: Cindy Carlson of Ivins, UT; Lisa (Richard) Banks of Big Piney, WY; Michelle (Kevin) Thomas of W. Jordan, UT; 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Mesquite LDS Stake Center 100 N. Arrowhead, Mesquite, Nevada.  Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel.  Interment will be Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 10 a.m. (MST) in the Redwood Memorial Park, West Jordan, Utah.  Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.virginvalleymortuary.com
