The Exchange Club of Mesquite is holding an open house Thursday at the Mesquite Veteran’s Center between 5 and 7 p.m. Stop by to see all the great things you can do for your community with when you choose to become an Exchange Club volunteer. The event is free to the public and includes refreshments.
The Exchange Club is a group of your neighbors who have joined together to make their communities better places to live.
With the help of dozens of volunteers from all over our community the Exchange Club proudly presents the One Thousand Flags Over Mesquite veterans tribute at the Recreation Center field every November.
During the holidays the Mesquite Veteran’s Center prepares packages every Christmas to send to our troops serving around the world and the Exchange Club of Mesquite pays the postage.
Don’t miss the closing weekend of the Virgin Valley Theatre Group’s Zombies from the Beyond.
Zombies from the Beyond is directed by Glen Bjornson and includes all the “campiness” that one would expect from the science fiction “B” movie madness.
According to Dramatists Play Services, “Zombies from the Beyond is a musical comedy celebration of American ideals and foibles in the Eisenhower era. Songs, dances, and laughs abound in the unlikeliest of settings as the Cold War and space race paranoia threaten the good folks at the fictional Milwaukee Space Center in 1955, where the staff is all abuzz at the arrival of rocket scientist Trenton Corbett.
Taking its cue from pulp movies popular at the time, ZOMBIES FROM THE BEYOND brings the 1950s nostalgically and hilariously to life with a tuneful, toe-tapping score.”(DPS)
