On Monday, February 23, 2015 at 5 p.m., The Reilly Group will be conducting a public listening session at the Senior Center, 102 W Old Mill Road. The session will give interested parties an opportunity to provide constructive feedback about the services provided by the City of Mesquite’s Athletics and Leisure Services Department.

City Manager Andy Barton said, “These reviews help us fine tune departmental operations.  From the pools to the parks, and from the youth sports leagues to weekend tournaments, the impact of Athletics and Leisure Services can be felt throughout the community.  Consequently, we invite to all interested parties to attend this listening session and provide meaningful feedback.  We want to hear about what the department is doing well and where the department can improve.  We can then take that information and set goals to provide even better service.”

The Department of Athletics and Leisure Services provides for the health and social welfare of the City and is a key component of community and economic development.  Its responsibilities can be broken down into seven main areas—athletics (sporting event recruiting and marketing Mesquite brand); parks (maintain well-kept athletic venues, parks, cemetery, trails and City facilities); recreation center and aquatics (healthy lifestyle programs and facilities); recreation programs (youth and adult leagues, health and fitness programs); senior center (provide healthy foods, and social and fitness programs for seniors); Sunshine Academy Preschool (provide education and activities for area preschoolers); and Mesquite campus (maintain leaseholder relationships for non-profits using campus rooms).

If you are unable to attend the meeting, you are welcome to provide feedback through an online form https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MesquitePublicFeedback or by contacting Thom Reilly with The Reilly Group via email at thom@thereillygroup.org or via phone at (702) 809-1092.
