Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Jan. 25 – Jan. 31, 2015.

Jan. 25:

Driving Under the Influence: An officer responded to a report of a female passed out in the driver seat of a running parked vehicle on W Pioneer Blvd. Female was found to be intoxicated and arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer made contact with three males walking near W Mesquite Blvd & N Grapevine Rd. After an investigation they were taken into custody for possession of marijuana.

Robbery: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd convenience store for a report of an armed robbery. No one was injured during the event.

Jan. 26:

Vandalism: An Officer responded to a Mesquite City Recreation Ball Field on W Old Mill Rd for a report of vandalism to a drinking water fountain. Information was received and a report taken.

Fraud: An Officer took a report on Bay Hill Circle of an internet scam concerning the ordering of a free trail of a product and then being charged for future shipments. Report taken, for information purposes.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a Hardy Way residence in reference to a theft of medications.

Fraud: Mesquite Police received a phone call from an out of town party, concerning possible fraud concerning a Mesquite resident. The Mesquite resident did find his credit card had been fraudulently used. A report was taken and investigation started.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Police Department, in reference to a theft report.

Jan. 27:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to the police department, in reference to a property damage call.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd restaurant for a report of a male subject causing a disturbance. Male was still causing the disturbance upon officers’ arrival. The male was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Jan. 28:

Fraud: Officer responded to the Mesquite Detention Center on a reported fraud.  Officer obtained a written statement from the victim and a report was taken.

Tpo Violation: Officer responded to the lobby of the Police department on a report of a citizen Assist.  After speaking with the reporting party the officer determined it was a Protection Order Violation and a report was taken.

Search Warrant: The Mesquite Police Department executed a knock and announce search warrant of a W Hafen Ln residence.

Probation Violation: During routine patrol officers observed an adult male at a N Sandhill Blvd business violating his parole stipulations. The adult male was placed into custody for a P&P violation and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Probation Violation: Officers arrested a male for Parole and Probation Violation on N Sandhill Blvd.

Wanted Person: Officer made a consensual stop with a person on foot near Riverside Road and Second South. The adult male was arrested for a felony warrant and was transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Jan. 29:

Citizen Assist: Officers arrested a female on E Pioneer Blvd who had a warrant out of Bunkerville Township Justice Court.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer was dispatched to a private property accident on Turtleback Rd. Both drivers completed a driver’s exchange form.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer’s responded to a report of a vehicle accident with no injuries at Riverside Rd & White Rock.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on W Mesquite Blvd who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Jan. 30:

Burglary: Officers responded to a Prominence Ln residence reference a burglary.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer was conducting a business check at a N Sandhill Blvd convenience store when it was reported that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian.  Officer obtained statements from the driver and witnesses and a report was taken.

Lost Property: Officer took a report of a lost/stolen property. The event number was provided to the victim for documentation. The following day the victim contacted the police to advise that she found her purse at her residence.

Agency Assistance: Officers were dispatched to a Mesa Blvd residence to assist rescue units for a male subject down and not breathing. The male was pronounced deceased by the hospital emergency doctor. The Clark County Corner’s Office responded and took custody of the scene.

Jan. 31:

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to a Mesquite Springs Dr complex on a civil standby.

Burglary: Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary on Basin View. Officers and Detectives processed the scene for evidence and investigation is ongoing.

Petit Larceny: Officers responded to a W Pioneer Blvd retail store reference a male who had been detained for shoplifting.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a trespass violator.  One male subject was cited and released with a court date.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver on I15 SB.  Upon investigation, the driver was arrested for various drug related charges.
