Boy Scouts and the Virgin Valley Heritage Museum Display

The Virgin Valley Heritage Museum is proud to announce its upcoming display Boy Scouts and The Virgin Valley Heritage Museum. The Boy Scouts have been of assistance to the museum since it opened in 1985. There are several Eagle Scout projects in and around the Museum and they will be identified as part of the display. The display runs from February 10 to March 11, 2015.

The main display cases will feature scouting items from merit badges to scouting books. Also, there will be a spot in the display to leave a short message telling what the Boy Scouts of America program means to you.

Social Media WorkshopMuseumLogoMLN

The Virgin Valley Heritage Museum will be having a social media workshop on February 21 from 3:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery Classroom. This workshop will cover the museum’s online catalog and the basics of Facebook.

We are also looking for assistants for the class, to help answer basic questions that may occur from participants while the workshop is happening.

What’s that? A Collection of Curiosities Display

The Virgin Valley Heritage Museum is excited to announce it’s new upcoming display—“What’s that? A Collection of Curiosities”. The display opens March 11 and runs until April 13, 2015. The reason for the early announcement is we are inviting the community to help select items that will go on display. This will offer a unique opportunity to see things at the museum from a different perspective.

To participate, come by the museum walk through and find an item that catches your attention. Once you have made your selection, talk with our coordinator, Erika Kuta Marler, and she will help you write up a short description that will be included in the main display. Selections must be made by March 4 in order to be included. We invite you to come back on March 11 and see what other community members have selected to be on display. (Larger items will not be able to be put into the display due to space restrictions.)

For more information about this event and the Museum, find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MesquiteNVMuseum or stop by the Museum at 35 W. Mesquite Blvd.  The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
