The LVMPD recently received numerous reports of unknown subjects making phone calls to individuals attempting to collect money for various legal troubles. If the victims do not pay, the caller threatens to have a warrant issued for their arrest. These phone calls came from a number that belongs to the LVMPD South Central Area Command.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department wants to remind citizens that there are never attempts made by the agency to collect money over the phone. This is not a practice that is used by the LVMPD. If you have been victimized by a person claiming to be a representative of the LVMPD, you can file an incident report by going to any open LVMPD substation or the LVMPD Headquarters Records Bureau.
