The Virgin Valley High school Bulldogs rallied in the fourth period to defeat Sunrise Mountain High school 42-37. Bernice Fiso led the Dawgs with 14 points followed by Spencer Green with 12 points and center Kourtney Metzger with 10.
The Dawgs trailed 31-28 before outscoring the Miners down the stretch 14-6. The win gave the Dawgs a 9-2 Sunrise League record with three games remaining prior to the playoffs.
The Dawgs will host 8-2 Chaparral Wednesday, February 4 in a battle for second place and travel to 6-5 Desert Pines on Tuesday, February 10 before hosting undefeated Boulder City 11-0 on Thursday, February 12.
