The Virgin Valley High School boy basketball team had no answer for the barrage of three point shots put up by the Clark High School Chargers Tuesday night in Las Vegas. The Chargers hit six three-point shots in the opening period for a 24-6 advantage. The Chargers added two more before the break to take a 42-15 lead into the locker room.

The Chargers stiff defense shut down the Bulldog offense the rest of the way. The Chargers finished with 11 threes for the game. Point guard Jarrett Tietjen hit two threes in the second half to lead all Bulldogs in scoring with 7 points. Andrew Memmott pulled down six rebounds. Cody Burnside added 4 boards and six points in the losing effort. The final score found the Dawgs in a 70-42 losing effort. The Dawgs finished the season with a 13-13 record. The inequity of the NIAA Division system was apparent in the strength of the Chargers. They are a ‘Magnet School’, but that inequity will be in a future opinion piece.
