Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Jan. 18 – Jan. 24, 2015.

Jan. 18:

Civil Matter: An Officer responded to the front lobby of the Mesquite Detention Center and took a Civil matter report, concerning personal property not being returned.

Dead Body: Officer responded to a report of a deceased elderly female on Mesa Blvd. Coroner’s office responded and completed their investigation.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd grocery store, in reference to a theft.  An adult female subject was later cited for petit larceny.

Burglary: Officers responded to a Rolling Hills Dr residence and took a report of a burglary at the residence. The residence was entered through an open door. Information was received and a report completed.

Found Property: An officer located a bag at a city park on E Old Mill Rd, and the bag was recovered for safekeeping.

Jan. 19:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer discovered property damage at a W Hafen Ln construction site. Evidence was located and documented. An officer’s report was completed and an investigation is underway.

Found Property: While conducting a check of a W Hafen Ln park, an officer came across a jacket. The jacket will be placed in found property.

Burglary: Police responded to an attempted burglary at a Falcon Nest Ct residence. A report was taken and detectives are conducting further investigation.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An Officer responded to a Wildfang Way residence and took a suspicious circumstance report of a male being in the residence without permission.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd hotel on a report of a female acting disoriented. The female was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a Pulsipher Ln apartment complex reference a welfare check. An intoxicated adult female was found to be in control of a motor vehicle, and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Burglary: Police responded to a residential burglary. A report was taken and is currently under investigation.

Jan. 20:

Theft: An Officer responded to a grocery store for a reported theft of items from the store. Information was gathered and a report taken.

Found Property: An officer was flagged downed by a motorist on N Sandhill Blvd who turned over some found property.

Burglary: An officer was dispatched to an Overlook Ln residence in reference to a burglary.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers conducted a controlled narcotics buy on Pulsipher Ln which resulted in the arrest of five adult subjects.

Intoxicated Person: An officer observed an intoxicated adult crossing N Sandhill Blvd outside the crosswalk. The male was arrested for intoxicated pedestrian in roadway.

Burglary: Officer responded to a Hardy Way residence for a report of a Burglary. A report was taken. Investigation is on going.

Jan. 21:

Noise Disturbance: Officers responded to an apartment complex on N Grapevine Rd reference a noise complaint. An adult male was issued a citation for breach of peace, and released with a court date.

Theft: Officer responded to a report of theft on Rio Valley. The officer took a report that a subject was picked up by a taxi cab in Las Vegas and transported to Mesquite. Subject fled from the taxi without paying. Investigation is ongoing.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer took a report of a two vehicle, private property traffic accident with negative injuries on W Old Mill Rd.

Jan. 22:

Traffic Stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop for a minor traffic violation at E Pioneer Blvd & Mesa Blvd.  Driver had received a traffic citation minutes earlier for same violations.  Driver was arrested on traffic violations.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd parking lot for a minor traffic accident. A driver’s exchange form was completed and photographs taken.

Missing Person: Officer completed a missing person from Chaparral Dr report due to the medical and health reasons. The missing person was placed into the NCIC data system as missing or endangered person.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers were dispatched to a minor two vehicle non-injury accident at E Mesquite Blvd & N Sandhill Blvd. One citation was issued for following to close.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a female minor gambling.  The minor was cited and released with a court date.

Wanted Person: Officers contacted a female on N Sandhill Blvd who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court. Officers arrested the female on the aforementioned warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jan. 23:

Burglary: Officers were dispatched to a suspicious circumstances call at a Wheelwright Ct residence.  Officers discovered a forced entry had been made into the residence and a possible burglary.  The investigation is ongoing through the Investigative Services Division.

Battery on Person: Officer’s responded to a Bobcat Run residence reference a possible battery between and male and female. The male was not present when officers arrived, and the investigation is ongoing.

Suspicious/Person: Officers located a intoxicated male subject walking down the travel lane of Canyon Crest Blvd. The subject was arrested for intoxicated pedestrian in roadway.

Battery on Person: Officers responded to a bar on El Dorado Rd reference a physical altercation between a male and female. The male was issued a citation for battery and released with a court date.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation at W Pioneer Blvd & Highland Dr. The adult male passenger of the vehicle had an active warrant and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. The male was arrested for these violations.

Jan. 24:

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd parking lot for a non injury traffic accident.

Burglary: An Officer responded to a property damage report on a vacant Thistle St residence, listed for sell. A window had been broken to gain entry into the residence. Information was gathered and a report taken.

Controlled Substance Problem: Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation on Kensington Ave. One adult male and one adult female were found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The subjects were issued citations for the items and released with a court date.

Weapon Offense: Officers responded to a home invasion on Nolina Way. The victims had escaped and were not harmed. An investigation is underway.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino reference several disorderly individuals fighting. During the course of the investigation, several suspects were cited with a court date.

Traffic Accident, w/ Injuries: Officers responded to a possible vehicle rollover at Turtleback Rd & W Pioneer Blvd. The vehicle was severely damaged after a single vehicle collision, and caused damage to several light poles. The investigation continues.

Controlled Substance Problem: Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation on E Pioneer Blvd. Upon investigation 2 adult males were found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The subjects were cited for the items and released with a court date.
