Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation and a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Jan. 11 – Jan. 17, 2015.

Jan. 11:

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute between an adult female and an adult male on Mesa Blvd. It was determined to be a verbal disagreement, and the parties voluntarily separated to cool down.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An Officer responded to the intersection of Sandhill Blvd and Mesquite Blvd for a reported two vehicle accident, with know reported injuries. A vehicle property damage accident report was completed.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to an Adobe Dr. residence for a possible domestic battery.  During the investigation an involved party was taken into custody for related charges.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd business on an adult male previously trespassed. The male was issued a citation and security escorted him from the property.

Controlled Substance Problem: Police located a suspicious vehicle parked in an Oasis Blvd dirt field. Upon investigation one adult male was found in possession of a controlled substance and narcotic paraphernalia. The adult male was issued citations for the items and released with a court date.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a family disturbance. Male half was arrested for breach of peace. No injuries were reported or observed.

Jan. 12:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Police responded to a report of property damage in a gas station parking lot on Falcon Ridge Pkwy. A report was taken.

Vandalism: An Officer responded to a Riverside Rd apartment complex, reference a report of vandalism/property damage to a vehicle parked in the parking lot. Information was gathered and a report taken concerning the damage to the vehicle.

Theft: Investigation continues; report to follow. Awaiting documentation from complainant.

Stolen Property: Officers received a report of a stolen bicycle on N Sandhill Blvd. The bicycle was later located, and an adult male was arrested for theft and possession of stolen property.

Person W/Gun: Officers responded to a possible report of a person with a gun on Sun Valley Dr. During the course of the investigation it was determined a weapon was not involved. The suspect was arrested for misdemeanor charges.

Driving Under the Influence: Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation. One adult
male was arrested for DUI and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Jan. 13:

Noise Disturbance: Officers responded to a noise complaint on N Grapevine Rd that turned out to be a verbal family fight. No one was injured. The parties separated for the evening.

Lost Property: Officer responded to a Canyon View Way residence and took a report of a lost wallet.

Found Property: An officer responded to the police department lobby in reference to a found cell phone.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at W Pioneer Blvd & N Grapevine Rd with no reported injuries and a report was taken.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd grocery store parking lot reference an intoxicated male in a vehicle. The adult male was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Intoxicated Person: An Officer was dispatched to Shade Tree Ln area, reference an intoxicated male subject knocking on doors.

Burglary: Police responded to a Wheelwright Ct burglary. A report was taken and detectives are conducting further investigation.

Jan. 14:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business on a reported two car collision. Photos of the scene were taken and a report made.

Burglary: An officer was dispatched to a Wheelwright Ct residence, for a report of a burglary. The report was taken and information was provided to the victim.

Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd construction site for a report of vandalism to a construction vehicle. The report was completed and the event number was provided to the owner of the vehicle.

Fraud: Citizen requested assistance from the Police Department to obtain information on who was attempting to use his account. The citizen observed the charge prior to it going through and did not lose any funds.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a Wheelwright Ct residence, reference suspicious circumstance(s). Officer obtained photos and a report was taken.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a minor gambling.  The minor was cited and released.  While conducting the investigation, the minor’s uncle was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Intoxicated Person: Officers arrested a male on E Pioneer Blvd for probation violation.

Jan. 15:

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a Turtleback Rd business, where a vehicle license plate was stolen. The event was captured on property surveillance. The report was taken and evidence collected.

Theft: Officer took a report of theft of two (2) rims from a vehicle on N Sandhill Blvd.

Disorderly Conduct: Officer responded to a civil assist regarding custody issues.  Adult male arrested for Breach of Peace.

Jan. 16:

Trespassing: Officers responded to a suspicious person call at the W Old Mill Rd Recreation Center. The individual was located, identified, and arrested for trespassing.

Burglary: Officer responded to the police department to a report of a burglary.  Officer obtained a written statement and processed the scene and took a report.

Theft: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd store reference a theft. Security footage of the suspect was retrieved and the officers are currently attempting to locate the offender.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to a Thompson Dr residence, for a report of domestic disturbance. The offender was located and arrested for domestic battery.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Officer responded to a Mesa Blvd casino on a report of a suspicious vehicle. Investigation determined the vehicle was reported stolen out of Utah.

Burglary: Officer responded to an E First North St business on a reported burglary.  Report was taken and Detectives responded to the scene.

Fraud: An officer was dispatched to the police department for phone call, relating to a fraud. The call was made and a report was completed.

Driving Under the Influence: Officer made a traffic stop for basic speed at W Old Mill Rd & N Arrowhead Ln and one adult female was arrested for DUI based on field sobriety tests.

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a minor gambling. Officers cited and released a male for minor gambling.

Business or License Problem: Officers responded to a gated community reference multiple solicitors.  After an investigation it was revealed the solicitors had been previously warned for no business and solicitor licenses.  Three males were arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Driving Under the Influence: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense on W Pioneer Blvd. The adult female driver was intoxicated, and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Agency Assistance: Officers responded to assist Mesquite Fire & Rescue with a possible attempted
suicide on Palos Verdes Dr.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd business reference a domestic battery. Upon arrival officers conducted an investigation and arrested both parties involved.

Jan. 17:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers were dispatched to one vehicle accident at Turtleback Rd & W Pioneer Blvd. During the investigation the driver was arrested for DUI and charged with other related traffic offenses.

Petit Larceny: An officer was dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd department store regarding a shoplifting incident involving juveniles.  The juveniles were detained and an investigation completed.  The juveniles were trespassed from the property and released to their guardians.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to a domestic situation at a Valley View Dr residence. Officers made contact with all parties involved and began an investigation.  Officers had probable cause to believe a female committed battery.  The female was arrested and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center for battery domestic violence.
