Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Dec. 28, 2014 – Jan. 3, 2015.

Dec. 28:

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer was dispatched to a Mesquite Springs Dr residence in reference to a person being under the influence of drugs.  An adult male subject was later taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine.

Citizen Assist: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd residence reference a fraud call.  Investigation revealed the crime took place in California.  A courtesy report was taken and a incident number provided.

Burglary: Police responded to a burglary at a Wheelwright Ct residence. A report was taken and the crime is currently under investigation.

Dec. 29:

Burglary: An Officer responded to a Sun City residence on Wheelwright Ct, for a report of Burglary from a residence. A report was taken and the scene was processed by the Investigative
Services Division.

Identity Theft: An officer was dispatched to the police department, in reference to a credit card fraud report.

Dec. 30:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer was dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd business in reference to a suspicious situation.

Dead Body: An Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd residence for a report of a deceased person. The male was found to have passed away due to natural causes. The scene was turned over to the Clark County Coroner’s office.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a Riverside Bridge (Bundy Ranch) address in reference to a theft from a storage trailer.

Dec. 31:

Controlled Substance Problem: Police responded to a report of a suspicious person near a E Pioneer Blvd restaurant. One adult female was arrested for possession of narcotic paraphernalia and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to a Pulsipher Ln residence on a report of damage to his vehicle. Officer obtained a written statement and a report was taken.

Battery on Person: Officers were dispatched to the hospital on Bertha Howe Ave, reference an alleged battery. During the investigation it was learned the victim refused to cooperate and
file criminal charges for the battery.

Traffic Accident, w/ Injuries: Officers responded to a report of a single vehicle accident involving a vehicle striking a light pole at Mesquite Height & Sandal Wood Wy. Driver was transported to the hospital. Impaired driver investigation is ongoing.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: An Officer responded to a party on W Pioneer Blvd reference a minor male consuming alcohol.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: An Officer responded to a party on W Pioneer Blvd reference a minor female consuming alcohol. Female was issued a citation and released with a court date.

Jan. 1:

Driving Under the Influence: An officer stopped a vehicle on W Mesquite Blvd & Woodbury Ln for speeding, and determined the driver was intoxicated. The adult male driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and open container.

Fighting: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd  casino reference a fight call.  One of the subjects involved received a citation for battery and breach of peace.

Driving Under the Influence: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at W Mesquite Blvd & N Arrowhead Ln and discovered the driver to be too intoxicated to drive. The driver was arrested and charged with DUI.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: Officers conducted a traffic stop at W Pioneer Blvd & N Grapevine Rd. One male adult was cited for various offenses and arrested on three active NHP warrants.

Intoxicated Person: Officers visually observed an unknown vehicle swerve to avoid hitting an
intoxicated female while she crossed Pioneer Boulevard outside the marked crosswalk.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino and arrested a male for trespass, obstructing, and resisting arrest.

Stolen Vehicle: Officer took a report of a vehicle that was stolen from a Mesa Blvd casino’s parking lot, investigation is ongoing.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer was investigating a suspicious vehicle in a W Mesquite Blvd casino parking lot. One subject was taken into custody for an unrelated warrant.

Domestic Trouble: Officer responded to a Colleen Ct residence reference a domestic battery between boyfriend and girlfriend. The female was found to be the primary aggressor. The female and was arrested without incident and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Lost Property: Male subject reported loosing his wallet at an E Pioneer Blvd casino. Report taken and the incident number provided to the complainant.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino on a reported hit and run.  Officer determined that the offending party had left a note with contact information and a report was taken.

Suicidal Person: Officers responded to a Canyon View Way residence reference an attempted suicide.

Jan. 2:

Found Property: A local citizen turned in a wallet which had been located on E Mesquite Blvd.

Threatening: Officer made contact with an intoxicated male weaving and stumbling across N Yucca St. The male was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for intoxication pedestrian in the roadway.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a report of vandalism to several construction vehicles on W First South St. Scene was processed for evidence and report taken. Investigation is ongoing.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to a W Hafen Ln park in reference to property damage by a vehicle. A report was taken, but the suspect vehicle has not been located.

Wanted Person: Officers located an adult male with one active warrant on Falcon Ridge Pkwy.  He was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Jan. 3:

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle with possible intoxicated minors at a N Sandhill Blvd fast food restaurant parking lot. The driver was over the legal limit of alcohol and was arrested for DUI.

Burglary: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd residence on a reported burglary.  Officer obtained written statements and a report was taken.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a traffic accident with possible injuries at the
intersection of Sandhill Blvd and Old Mill Rd. The at-fault driver was issued a traffic citation.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a E Old Mill Rd residence in reference to a physical fight between two co-inhabitants. An aggressor was determined and arrested for Domestic Battery.
