Gridiron Gals begin 2015 with 32-8 win over Rattlers

The Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldogs began 2015 with a win over the Mojave High School Rattlers Monday night in Las Vegas. Bulldog quarterback Kallie Graves led the Dawgs by completing 12 of 21 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Graves also ran for two touchdowns and hit receivers Brooke White and Marlene Quiarte for conversion points. Quiarte ran for 62 yards on seven carries to lead the Dawg rushers. Taylor Bryant also scored a running touchdown for the Lady Dawgs. Top receiver for the Dawgs was Dylan Bryant with five receptions for 53 yards. The defense had an outstanding game led by Kari Wakefield, Hanna Haviland and Ashley Fernandez with four tackles a piece.

The Bulldogs led 19-6 after one half of play and shut down the Rattlers in the last half while scoring an additional 13 points to win easily.

The Bulldogs returned home today to host Clark High School at 4:30 pm in the Dawg Pound. The Bulldogs’ league record went to 3-2 and 5-4 overall.
