The Monday GAS Club nine-hole tournament returned to some close finishes that the players have been familiar with. Four tenths of a stroke was all that separated the top two teams and only three shots between the first and last place teams.

The winning team of Doug Lund, Steve Fennimore, Bill Losh and Jim Buttler didn’t see it coming as they didn’t feel they played the best. However, with the two-best-ball team format, they picked up three shots on the par three hole #8.

Low net prize went to Larry Mierisch for his gross 38 (net 30). “It was good shooting for the big guy,” said Buttler. “He did tell me that he can still play this game. I’m convinced.”

Closest to the pin prizes went to Fennimore on hole #2, Gary Slater on hole #5 and John Johnson on hole #8.

Only two skins were given Monday, one each going to Dave Jordan and John Meyer.

All players wishing to join the GAS Club, which plays twice a week at the Falcon Ridge Golf Course on Mondays and Wednesdays, as well as current members, will need to check with Jim Buttler for starting times as they will be changing in February. Buttler can be reached at 702-346-2714.
