Monday’s cold temperatures were no match for the players, as five teams competed and showed how tough they are here in the desert.

The winning team of Greg Szybel, Bill Losh, Mike Moreau and Andrew Yeh won the two-best-ball format, finishing with a 55.2, a full stroke in front of second place finishers Jeff Lund, Dave Calmelat, Clark Mitchell and Ben Bishop’s 56.2. It was a close day all around as only 3.5 strokes separated the five teams.

Low net went to Calmelat and his 33.1.

Closest to the pin prizes were won by Yeh on hole #2, Calmelat on #5 and John Johnson on #8.

Skins were few and far between again, as there was only one recorded for the day. Yeh took the money as the only one with a birdie on hole #2.

There are two more weeks left in the club’s Eclectic Tourney and Losh still looks to take the title with his consistent play.

The next Mesquite Challenge Tournament is scheduled for Monday, January 19, 2015 at Falcon Ridge Golf Course, 1024 Normandy Lane. Anyone interested in joining the tournament or finding more information on the GAS Club can contact Brian Wursten at 702-346-6363 or Jim Buttler at 702-346-2714.
