Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Nov. 30 – Dec. 6, 2014.

Nov. 30:

Fire: An officer was dispatched to a Lewis St address to assist Mesquite Fire personnel with traffic control on a brush fire.

Hit & Run: Officer responded to a report of a hit and run in the parking lot of an E Pioneer Blvd casino and a report was taken.

Citizen Assist: Officer was flagged down by a motorist asking for directions at W Pioneer Blvd & N Grapevine Rd.

Found Property: An officer responded to the police department lobby in reference to a suitcase found in Arizona by a motorist.

Citizen Assist: Officer assisted with traffic control on Sandhill Blvd for a motorist stalled in a travel lane.

Citizen Assist: An Officer was flagged down by a citizen at the Bulldog Plaza and asked questions concerning filing a Protection order.

Disorderly Conduct: An Officer responded to a E First North St residence for a report of a verbal argument between mother and son. Both involved parties were spoken with and the son went to his grandmother’s residence for a cooling off period.

Welfare Check: Officers were dispatched to a Sun Valley Dr residence in reference to a suspicious situation.

Alarm: An Officer responded to the Elementary School on Woodbury Ln for an alarm in one of the classrooms.  The school was checked with no problems found.

Business or License Problem: Officer responded to the Mountain Ridge neighborhood in reference to a business license problem.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to the parking lot of a W Pioneer Blvd store on a suspicious film canister and found it to be a location where a search and find game clue was left.  “Geo cash.”

Citizen Dispute: Officer responded to a Mesa Blvd residence on a report of harassment between two neighbors. A misunderstanding was cleared up and both parties were satisfied.

Alarm: An Officer responded to a residential alarm on W Mesquite Blvd. No one was found at home, but the residence was found to be secure.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a N Grapevine Rd residence reference a domestic disturbance. An adult female was arrested for domestic battery, and an officer’s report was completed.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Hacienda Way residence for a domestic disturbance. After an investigation, a male subject was placed under arrest for Domestic Battery.

Dec. 1:

Citizen Assist: An Officer responded to a Reber Dr residence, where an elderly male was concerned because his wife was not at home and he did not know where she was. The wife returned home after the officer’s arrival.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a report of a traffic accident and Riverside Rd and a state form was completed.

VIN Number Inspection: An officer responded to the police department in reference to a VIN inspection.

Keep The Peace: An Officer responded to a private property parking lot on E Old Mill Rd, reference an argument over one party opening his car door into another parked car. Vehicle did not sustain any visible damage.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a Canyon View Way residence on a keep the peace.

Parking Problem: An officer was dispatched to a Turtle Cove address, in reference to a parking problem.

Suicidal Person: Officers were dispatched to a Falcon Ridge Pkwy medical clinic in reference to a person who made suicidal comments.  This person explained that her statements were misinterpreted and she was not suicidal.

Citizen Assist: An Officer attempted to contact a female subject at a local motel on W Mesquite Blvd, to pass on some information from the VA Hospital. Negative contact was made at this time.

Traffic Accident, w/ Injuries: Officers were dispatched to the intersection of N Sandhill Blvd & E Old Mill Rd for a vehicle/pedestrian accident.  An adult female was transported to the hospital.

Alarm: Officers were canceled prior to arrival to an alarm on Riverside Rd.

Citizen Assist: Police responded to a citizen assist phone call at the police department lobby. A citizen had questions about a crime committed in another state. The citizen was advised to contact his local agency.

Dec. 2:

Alarm: Officers responded to a local residence on an alarm on Mountain View Dr. An open door was located on the garage; the residence was cleared and secured.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer responded to the lobby in reference to suspicious items found in the roadway.

Traffic Problem: Officers responded to a report of a driver traveling on the wrong side of the roadway near Falcon Ridge Pkwy & Flat Top Mesa Dr. The area was searched for the vehicle but not located.  An additional caller stated the driver was able to turn around and head in the correct direction prior to police arrival.

Sex Offender Verification: Officer responded to the police station for a FDR verification process.

Panhandling: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd parking lot in reference to a person panhandling.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a North Sandhill Boulevard business parking lot for a report of a minor traffic accident. Information was gathered and a report completed.

VIN Number Inspection: An officer responded to a Leavitt Ln residence for a VIN inspection.

Missing Person: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino on a report of a missing juvenile. The juvenile was located and returned to his parent.

Business or License Problem: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd & Riverside Rd parking lot for a business license violation, a warning was issued.

Agency Assistance: An officer responded to assist a LVMPD unit on I15 NB, the unit did not need assistance.

Burglary: Officers responded to a Partridge Ln residence for a report of a residential burglary.

Citizen Assist: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd parking lot in reference to a citizen assist.

Citizen Assist: An officer assisted a citizen with keys locked in a vehicle on N Sandhill Blvd

Alarm: Officer responded to a W Pioneer Blvd business alarm and was cancelled enroute.

Found Property: An officer was dispatched to a Hillside Dr government building in reference to a found property call.

Burglary: Officers responded to an E First North St house reference a burglary. The officers documented the stolen items, and the investigation is ongoing.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a property damage traffic accident between a vehicle and the block wall of a Prosperity Ln residence. The driver of the vehicle was issued several traffic citations, and an accident report was completed.

Dec. 3:

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd shopping center on a property damage accident. Officer obtained statements from both drivers and a report was taken.

Theft: Officer responded to the Police Department on a reported theft on Mesa Blvd. Officer obtained written statement from the victim and a report was taken.

Vandalism: Officer responded to a W Old Mill Rd trailside on a report of vandalism. Officer arrived and observed several trailside lights had been broken. Investigation continues.

Fighting: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd apartment complex reference a fight call. Officers located and arrested the subjects at fault.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a disturbance at a W Pioneer Blvd grocery store. One male subject was arrested for disturbing the peace of others.

Hit & Run: Officers responded to a hit and run accident on N Sandhill Blvd, property damage only, at a gas station.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on W Pioneer Blvd who had a warrant out of Mesquite Justice Court.

Dec. 4:

Trespassing: Male subject on E Pioneer Blvd was cited for trespassing and released with a court date.

Trespassing: Officer responded to a Riverside Rd apartment complex, reference a trespass violation. A male was arrested for trespassing.

Dec. 5:

Wanted Person: Female was located at E Pioneer Blvd & Mesa Blvd, and did have an active warrant. The female was placed into custody and booked into the city jail.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an apartment complex on Riverside Rd for a report of a trespass violation. Subject was taken into custody.

Assault/Battery: Officer was flagged down by a juvenile reference a fight that had just occurred at W Hafen Ln & Garnet Ln. Guardians of the juveniles were contacted and a juvenile was issued a citation.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business in reference to an employee’s bike that was struck by a vehicle while it was chained to a light pole. The bike was thrown into a garbage can by the driver of the vehicle. The vehicle then left the scene of the accident.

Theft: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a theft of a female’s wallet.

Dec. 6:

Suspicious/Person: Officer arrested a female on E Pioneer Blvd with an active warrant.

Burglary: Officers responded to a Canal St residence for a report of a burglary. Report was taken and juvenile was arrested.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a Pulsipher Ln apartment complex for report of an accident.

Traffic Violation: Officer observed a vehicle committing multiple traffic violations at Whitey Lee Ln & Verllonia St. The driver fled on foot, and later turned himself in and was issued a citation for several traffic violations.
