Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Dec. 14 – Dec. 20, 2014.

Dec. 14:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer responded to a field at W Hafen Ln & Crystal Court in reference to a complaint of juveniles shooting shotguns towards the river. The subjects were gone on arrival and officers were unable to locate them.

Citizen Assist: Officer checked on motorist on side of I15 SB. Motorist had help en route and did not need further assistance.

Agency Assistance: Officer responded to a E Pioneer Blvd hotel on an agency assist for a pregnant adult female requesting paramedics after she had drank alcohol.

Agency Assistance: Officers responded to a E Pioneer Blvd casino hotel on a welfare check. Patient was transported by paramedics to hospital for evaluation.

Welfare Check: An officer responded to a Sandbar St residence for a welfare check.  The adult male was in good condition.

Animal Complaint: Officer responded to a report of an animal in possible distress locked in a vehicle on W Pioneer Blvd. Upon arrival, animal was found with owner, and appeared healthy and not in distress.

Driving Under the Influence: Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation at E Mesquite Blvd & N Willow St. One adult female was arrested for DUI and multiple other traffic offenses and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Dec. 15:

Suspicious/Person: Police responded and assisted Mesquite Fire & Rescue with a female in need of medical attention on Hawk St. Female was transported by ambulance.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An Officer responded to a Hiawatha Way residence and spoke with the home owner concerning one of his homes being listed on Craig’s list, for rent. Information was received and a report taken.

Theft: An officer responded to a report of a theft of a newborn calf on W Hafen Ln. The area was searched for evidence of the theft and a report was taken.

Fraud: An Officer spoke with a person at the Police Department, reporting an attempted fraud, by cashing a check and sending some of the money from the cashed check back to a listed address.

Parking Problem: An Officer responded to Grayce Dr for a report of a RV parking on the roadway for a long period of time and causing a traffic problem. Owner was contacted and will move the RV.

Domestic Trouble: Police Officers responded to a W Hafen Ln residence for a report of a possible domestic situation. Male party was gone on Police arrival, female report the dispute to be verbal only.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a Second South St residence for a report of damage to a trailer parked on the roadway in front of the residence. Information was gathered and a report taken.

Dec. 16:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a Cottonwood Dr residence reference an intoxicated person causing a disturbance. The intoxicated person was issued citations for property damage, breach of peace, and failing to report an accident.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a report of a hit and run accident on Cottonwood Dr. The driver of the at-fault vehicle was located. Driver was arrested for related charges and transported to the Mesquite Detention facility.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a Hillside Dr park, in reference to a property damage report.

Graffiti: An officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business in reference to vandalism.

Juvenile Problem: An Officer responded to a Moss Dr residence for a report of an un-supervised male juvenile. Officer found the guardian to be sleeping. A warning was issued.

Trespassing: An officer conducted a building check of a vacant building on E Mesquite Blvd and found possible trespassing violations.

Civil Matter: An Officer responded to a Falls Circle residence to answer question concerning a civil matter involving the next door property. Questions were answered.

Controlled Substance Problem: The Investigative Services Narcotic Division (ISND) conducted a controlled purchase of marijuana from a Mesquite narcotic dealer. Investigation is ongoing.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a property damage traffic accident at W Mesquite Blvd & W Falcon Ridge Pkwy. A report was taken.

Dec. 17:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino reference property damage. The damage was documented, and an officer’s report was completed.

Battery on Person: Officer responded to a N Grapevine Rd residence for a report of a physical altercation that had
occurred. A subject was cited for battery and released with a court date.

Graffiti: An officer was dispatched to the trails system on Riverside Rd for graffiti. Report was taken and completed. Investigation is ongoing.

Theft: Officer was dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd local casino, reference theft of property. The suspect was identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Dec. 18:

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation at E First North St & N Willow St. Drug paraphernalia was located in the vehicle and both occupants were arrested.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on Hillside Dr for felony warrant out of Mesquite Justice Court.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to a Pheasant Dr residence reference a suspicious person sleeping in a car.  Subject was contacted and arrested for Open Container and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Theft from Vehicle: Officers were dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd local casino parking lot, reference theft from a vehicle. A detective was on scene to assist with the investigation. The report was completed and a event number was provided to the victim.

Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to a Pinehurst Dr residence regarding an intoxicated male who was passed out in the bathroom.  Due to the subject being unable to drive officers transported him to the detention center for Civil Protective Custody.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers were dispatched to a Rio Valley residence for a report of an altercation between neighbors. Subject was issued a citation for harassment and released with a court date.

Wanted Person: Male adult on W Pioneer Blvd was taken into custody for an active Mesquite Municipal Court warrant.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino parking lot in reference to a domestic problem. The aggressive party had already left the area. The victim just wanted a report for matter of record.

Dec. 19:

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino reference a minor gambling. The female was identified and issued a citation for minor gambling and minor consumption of alcohol.

Domestic Trouble: Officer responded to an E Mesquite Blvd establishment, reference a domestic. Investigation resulted in the arrest of the male subject for domestic battery and battery on a police officer.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd motel on a reported domestic battery.  After further investigation one adult male was taken into custody.

Dec. 20:

Civil Matter: Officers responded to a Honeysuckle Ct business in reference to a stolen vehicle.  Upon further investigation it was determined that the vehicle was being used by a friend.

Disorderly Conduct: Officer made contact with an intoxicated male in the roadway on N Sandhill Blvd. The male was arrested for intoxication in the roadway and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center without incident.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a Pulsipher Ln residence reference a disorderly adult male.  After an investigation the male was arrested for breach of peace and drug paraphernalia.
