Monday’s GAS Club had six teams competing in a modified stableford format, with points being awarded to each player for their score in relation to par on each hole. “This is a great way to play team golf,” said Jim Buttler. “All players have to get in the game, there is no place to hide.”

The top team earned 56 points for the day with a combined handicap of 18.9 for the foursome, giving them a six point edge over the second place team, one of the largest margins the club has seen with this format of play.

The winning team of Ron Vedd, Andrew Yeh, Jim Buttler and Bill Losh ran away with their prizes.

Once again, only one skin was awarded, going to Jeff Lund for his birdie on hole #6. “It’s hard to win a skin with so many single-digit handicaps playing,” added Buttler.

Closest to the pin winners were John Meyer for hole #2, Dave Jordan on hole #5 and Ron Nickle on hole #8.

The low net winner for the day was Buttler, with his low gross score of 36.

With the winter months ahead, the GAS Club will be changing their tee times to 1:30 p.m. on Mondays and 9 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Falcon Ridge Golf Course, 1024 Normandy Lane. For more information, call Brian Wursten at 702-346-6363.
