After losses to Faith Lutheran to begin the season and Clovis East Fresno, Ca; in their opening game in the Legacy Tip-Off Classic Tournament, the Virgin Valley High School Bulldogs notched their win of the season 61-60 behind 21 points from swing man Marcus Saunders Friday afternoon. Saunders had all the Dawgs points in overtime for the win over Churchill County. Cody Burnside and Quintin Smith added 10 points for the Dawgs.

The Dawgs were up 17-13 after one quarter of play and led 34-31 at the break. The Dawgs increased their lead to 53-42 entering the fourth period but could not hold the lead as the Green Wave outscored the Dawgs 15-4 to tie the Game 57-57. Saunders took over scoring four points for the win. The Bulldogs will face two more opponents Saturday before returning home for their annual Bulldog Invitational Tournament (B.I.T.) on Friday December 12. The Dawgs will face Kanab, Utah in their first game at 6 p.m.
