‘Twas the day before Christmas and all through the green, the golfers played hard but not many birdies were to be seen. And when the round was over, they heard these words, “Santa wasn’t very nice to me, didn’t bring me any birds!”

But what the heck, the clubhouse still offered them cheer, so they enjoyed Christmas and will be back next year.

The team of Greg Szybel and Aaron Kinnard had the win, beating the second place team of Bill Losh and Andrew Yeh by nine strokes.

Skins were plentiful for last Wednesday, as Yeh took eight, Kinnard and Sid Bounds with two each, and Losh and Szybel took one each.

Closest to the pin awards were a bit more restricted, as Kinnard took four out of the five, leaving the last to Jim Buttler on hole #5.

The end of the year-long Eclectic Tourney wasn’t near as close as the 9-hole tournament. Losh and Mierisch tied at 14 under par (21). Losh came back to win the 18-hole tournament with 30 under par (42), a number that may never be beaten. His 16 handicap was definitely helpful. During the year, Losh had 12 eagles.

The Mesquite Challenge at Falcon Ridge Golf Course, 1024 Normandy Way, is scheduled for Monday, January 19. Any players interested in participating can contact Jim Buttler at 702-346-2714 or Brian Wursten at 702-346-6363.
