The County is currently accepting applications for four spots on the Animal Advisory Committee.

The six-member committee is made up of people who represent specific groups, and so the current vacancies must be filled by people who fit the description for each of the openings.

One of the positions must be filled by a licensed veterinarian, another by someone representing a nonprofit humane group, and the third by someone who is an animal breeder or handler.

The County is also accepting applications for the non-voting student representative who sits on the Animal Advisory Committee.

Applications are available online at http://tinyurl.com/lb6acq4. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Dec. 19.

The Animal Advisory Committee is a volunteer advisory board that meets at least once per quarter to discuss animal issues. Its members are appointed by the County Commission.
