Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Oct. 26 – Nov. 1, 2014.

 

Oct. 26:

Unknown Problem: Officers responded to a Sun Valley Dr residence, reference a 911 hang-up. Officers found a male and female had been involved in a verbal dispute. Female and child left the residence for the day.

Domestic Trouble: Officer responded back to a Sun Valley Dr residence where a verbal dispute had occurred and arrested the male party for domestic violence.

Agency Assistance: Officer responded to a Quail Run residence to contact resident for outside agency.

Citizen Assist: Officer took a report from a citizen on Hillside Dr, concerning possible criminal activity involving a past boyfriend.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd traffic accident on private property with no injuries reported and the drivers exchanged information.

Person On Foot: An officer gave a courtesy ride to a motorist who ran out of gas on I15 NB.

Traffic Problem: Officer assisted motorist who ran out of gas on I15 SB.

Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on an OHV on Falcon Ridge Pkwy. The occupants were arrested for alcohol and drug related charges.

Lost Property: Officer responded to a Bobcat Run residence, reference several items missing from the home, believed to be taken by a family member. Report was taken and matter is being investigated.

Trespassing: An officer was dispatched to a N Grapevine Rd apartment complex in reference to a trespass call.

Reckless Driver: An officer responded to a W Pioneer Blvd address in reference to a reckless driver.

Alarm: An officer was dispatched to a residential alarm on W Mesquite Blvd.  The alarm was cancelled prior to arrival.

Oct. 27:

Weapon Offense: Officers circulated neighborhoods round Horizon Blvd & Hardy Way after hearing a possible single gunshot. Nothing suspicious located.

Alarm: Officers responded to a residential alarm on Chalet Dr and the home was secured.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer was dispatched to a report of damage to a mail box on W Second South.

Parking Problem: An officer was dispatched to Lewis St in reference to a parking problem.

VIN Number Inspection: Officer responded to a Buffalo Run residence and completed a VIN inspection on an ATV side by side.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Report of suspicious circumstance at I-15 at the Arizona State line. Found
several females taking photographs.

Civil Matter: Officer returned a phone call at the police department and answered questions concerning property matters in relationship to marriage issues.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd store in reference to a theft.

Reckless Driver: Officer responded to a report of a reckless driver on Riverside Rd. Vehicle was gone upon arrival and attempt to locate was unsuccessful.

Runaway Juvenile: Officers were dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd business parking lot in reference to a possible kidnapping.  After this matter was investigated, it was determined to be a runaway juvenile case rather than a kidnapping.

Welfare Check: Officer responded to a Bobcat Run residence to conduct a welfare check on a female who’s
husband recently passed away. The request was made by an out of state family member.

Oct. 28:

Suspicious/Vehicle: Officer observed an empty pickup truck enter a business area at W Pioneer Blvd & John Deere Dr. The truck later left with contents inside. Vehicle was stopped due to time of night, carrying property and location. Driver was conducting business for the company and had returned with material from their warehouse.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a Thistle St residence for a report of someone attempting to enter the residence. Officer checked the area and informed the owner, that everything was safe.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a non-injury, private property accident on Del Lago Dr. At fault vehicle struck a parked unoccupied vehicle. Information exchange was completed.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to Leavitt Ln for a property damage traffic accident with no reported injuries and a report was completed.

Person On Foot: Officer made contact with a male subject, on W Mesquite Boulevard. The male was panhandling and was issued a warning.

Stolen Vehicle: Officer responded to E Pioneer Blvd for a report of a stolen vehicle and a report was taken

Assault/Battery: Officer responded to the Police station and spoke with a female subject who requested to file a report of an assault that had happened several days earlier. Information was received and a report was taken.

Sex Offender Verification: An officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Police Department in reference to an FDR verification.

Controlled Substance Problem: The Investigative Services Narcotic Division (ISND) conducted a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from a Mesquite narcotic dealer. Investigation is ongoing.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the police station on a citizen assist.

Reckless Driver: Officer responded to I-15 North Bound for a report of a reckless driver. Traffic stop was conducted and several citations were issued.

Missing Person: Officers responded to a W Camellia Circle neighborhood in reference to a missing juvenile. The juvenile was located shortly after arrival of the officers.

Disorderly Conduct: An officer responded to the N Yucca St voting location in reference to a possible violation of voting laws, by a male asking for signatures on a petition.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a domestic violence call on Riverside Rd. During the course of the investigation it was later determined both suspects were involved in the battery. Both parties were arrested.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Police responded to a non-injury traffic accident at N Sandhill Blvd & E Old Mill Rd. A report was taken and the drivers of each vehicle were issued traffic citations and released.

Minor Gambling: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino for a minor gambling. Individual was issued a citation and released with a court date.

Missing Person: Officers responded to a report of a missing juvenile on W Hafen Ln. While speaking with mother the juvenile returned.

Oct. 29:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd hotel, in reference of property damage. It was determined the property was damaged purposely. A report of completed and the alleged suspect was gone prior to the officer’s arrival.

Fraud: Officer responded to a Villa La Paz Dr residence on a reported fraud. Officer obtained all information and a report was taken.

Found Property: Officer responded to a Pebble Creek Blf neighborhood on a report of a abandoned bicycle. Officer recovered the bicycle and placed it in property until claimed by the owner.

Burglary: Complainant contacted police reference a report of property damage on Mesquite Springs Dr. Report was taken by officers.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to the area of Leavitt Lane on a reported property damage accident.  Driver was cited and a report taken.

Juvenile Problem: Officers responded to a juvenile problem on Cascade Ave. The problem was resolved with no further incident.

Dead Body: Officers were dispatched to a Mesa Blvd apartment complex for a reported deceased adult male. Officers located the male who was deceased, which appeared to be of natural cause(s).  The corner’s office was contacted and the scene was released to them.

Oct. 30:

Traffic Violation: An Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at Leavitt Ln & Falcon Ridge Pkwy. The driver was arrested for a traffic violation and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.  The vehicle was released to a family member.

Wanted Person: During a traffic stop on N Sandhill Blvd, Officers identified an adult male with two Mesquite warrants; he was taken into custody.

Oct. 31:

Found Property: Found property tuned in to be booked into evidence. No contact information available to return the property.

Fraud: An officer was dispatched to a Falcon Ridge Pkwy business reference fraud of a credit card. The information was provided and a report was completed.

Traffic Stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on W Old Mill Rd. Driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Theft from Vehicle: An officer responded to a W Old Mill Rd parking lot for a report of a theft from a vehicle.

Theft: An officer responded to a Milky Way residence in reference to several stolen items. This is an ongoing investigation.

Nov. 1:

Trespassing: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino reference a trespass violation.  An adult male was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Alarm: An officer was dispatched to a W Hafen Ln school in reference to an alarm.

Found Property: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd store in reference to a found property call.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to Mesa Blvd for a report of domestic battery and one adult male was taken into custody.

Keep The Peace: An officer was contacted by a motorist on Turtleback Rd who requested assistance with a keep the peace call.

Lost Property: Officer responded to the Police Department and spoke with a female subject who report she had lost her wallet while shopping. The wallet was located while the report was being taken.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the Police Department lobby and took a report from a male subject. The report was taken as a matter of record and was concerning an altercation at his place of employment.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Justice Facility in reference to a citizen assist.

VIN Number Inspection: An officer was dispatched to a Mimosa Way residence in reference to a VIN inspection on an OHV.

Found Property: An officer was contacted by a motorist in reference to some found property on W Mesquite Blvd.

Lost Property: Officer responded to a Augusta Hills St residence for a report of a lost wallet. A report was taken and information received concerning the contents of the wallet.

Graffiti: An officer was dispatched to a Marilyn Pkwy park in reference to graffiti.

Suspicious/Vehicle: Police located a vehicle containing marijuana and multiple items of paraphernalia on Cedar Wood Trail & Dogwood Lane. One adult female and one adult male were arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Theft: Police responded to the Eureka Casino on Mesa Blvd reference a theft of property. An adult male attempted to steal stereo equipment and was detained by witnesses. The male was arrested for petit larceny.
