Streets of Mesquite November 16 – 22, 2014

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Nov. 16 – 22, 2014.

Nov. 16:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer was dispatched to a Nolina Ridge residence in reference to a suspicious situation.

Utility Problem: Officer responded to a report of a problem with power lines on W Mesquite Blvd. Power lines were found to be ok, just swaying with the wind.

Unknown Problem: Officers responded on 911 hang up call on E First North St. During the investigation it was determined to be a verbal family fight. No violence had occurred to any of the parties involved.  Juvenile subject went to stay with grandparents for evening.

Nov. 17:

Trespassing: An officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino in reference to a trespass violation.

Found Property: An officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd convenience store, in reference to a found property call.

Alarm: An officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd residence in reference to an alarm.

Unknown Problem: An Officer responded to a Sage Way residence for a report of a 911 hang-up, Resident was having problems dialing and dialed 911 by accident.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer was dispatched to a minor traffic accident, in a private parking lot on W Pioneer Blvd, without any injuries.

Transient Assistance: An officer responded to the police department for a citizen assist call.

Citizen Assist: An Officer responded to a Quicksilver Way residence and spoke with he male occupant concerning questions involving an incident that happened several years ago. All questions were answered.

Suicidal Person: Officers were dispatched to an E Old Mill Rd residence, in reference to a suicidal subject.  The suicidal subject was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Nov. 18:

Unknown problem: Officers received a 911 call from a male subject on Riverside Rd who had an argument with his girlfriend. No violence or threat of violence had occurred.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to the police department in reference to a citizen assist.

Noise Disturbance: An officer responded to a reported noise complaint on Pulsipher Ln. Officer was unable to hear any noise in the area of the alleged complaint.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to the lobby at the police department and met with a female concerning a fraudulent shopping scam. Female did not deposit the check and is not a victim. Checks were destroyed.

Welfare Check: Dispatch received information from a caller requesting assistance with attempting to locate a family member on Vista Del Ciudad Dr. A report was taken.

Nov. 19:

Fraud: Victim requested a report number to provide to the bank, for fraud. The officer provided the victim with the report number as requested.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer recovered drug paraphernalia, laying on the ground, next to a mailbox on San Juan Ln.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver on W Pioneer Blvd. Driver was located and after investigation he was taken into custody.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a trespass violator.  Officers located and arrested a female for the trespass violation.

Nov. 20:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer took a report of harassment on E Pioneer Blvd, which is documented for future reference(s).

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to S Arrowhead Ln & W First South St, reference a two-vehicle, non-injury traffic accident. Drivers exchange form was completed and the at-fault driver was issued a citation.

Wanted Person: Officer made contact with a male on S Hafen Ln with an active warrant out of Mesquite Justice Court. The male was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center without incident.

Burglary: Officers responded to an E Old Mill Rd residence, reference burglary. Investigation continues.

Fraud: Victim reported unlawful use of debit card. Victim gave the allege suspect the card and failed to take back the card after it was used. The suspect continued to use the card in Las Vegas and not the Mesquite area. Victim will contact LVMPD for further investigation.

Trespassing: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd gas station for a report of an intoxicated male causing problems. Subject was taken into custody for trespass violation.

Nov. 21:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to northbound I-15 at MM120 on a reported single vehicle
rollover.  Officers secured the scene until Nevada Highway Patrol could arrive to conduct an investigation.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a Sage Way residence on a report of a disorderly subject. Upon further investigation officers issued one adult female a citation for Breach of Peace.

Suicidal Person: Officer placed a suicidal female juvenile under arrest on a legal 2000 and transported her to Mesa View Hospital for further medical and mental evaluation.

Suicidal Person: Officer placed an adult suicidal male under arrest for a Legal 2000. The male was transported to Mesa View Hospital for mental evaluation.

Traffic Stop: Officers arrested a male at Marilyn Pkwy & Mesa Blvd who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations on W Mesquite Blvd. A male subject was arrested for possession of Marijuana.

Agency Assistance: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a agency assist call.  Officers contacted two juveniles and two males who had recently used illegal narcotics. An adult female was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and obstructing a public officer.

Nov. 22:

Theft: Officers responded to a W Pioneer Blvd store reference a juvenile shoplifting.  The juvenile received a citation and was released to her guardian.

Identification Check: Officer responded to a E Pioneer Blvd casino for a report of a minor gambling. Adult minor was issued a citation and released with a court date.
