Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Nov. 9 – 15, 2014.

 

Nov. 9:

Intoxicated Person: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business for a report of a disorderly intoxicated male at the business. A request was made to trespass the male if he was located.

Noise Disturbance: Officer responded to a Pulsipher Ln apartment complex for a noise complaint. All involved parties were talked to and agreed to keep the noise down.

Citizen Assist: An officer assisted a motorist on W Mesquite Blvd who was having trouble with their vehicle.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a suspicious person at a W Pioneer Blvd business. Management requested the male leave the property. Nothing further.

Burglary: Officer responded to a Quail Run residence for a report of a burglary of the residence. Information was gathered, a report taken and an investigation started into the burglary and theft of items from the home.

Suspicious/Person: Officer responded to a gated community with no trespass/soliciting signs posted, in reference to a male soliciting door to door on Chaparral Dr.  One male was trespassed without further incident.

Unknown Problem: Officer responded to a Moss Dr residence for a 911 hang-up. Everything was found to be ok, kids playing with the phone.

Found Property: Officer responded to a Silver Rd residence on a report of found property.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were called to a Pinyon Ln residence for a report of a Domestic Battery. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived. A report was taken and officers are attempting to locate the suspect.

Burglary: Mesquite Police were dispatched to Hardy Way on a possible burglary call. Suspects were located in a stolen vehicle. An investigation was started. Suspects arrested for attempted burglary, burglary tools and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Nov. 10:

Suspicious/Vehicle: Officer made contact with the owner of a motor home parked long term on W First North St. A warning was issued and the motor home, moved on.

Loitering: Police responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business for two subjects refusing to leave property after being asked to leave by property owner. Subjects moved on after being trespassed from the property.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a report of suspicious activity at a Shade Tree Ln apartment complex. Officer spoke with an adult residing at the residence concerning the suspicious activity.

Citizen Assist: A citizen reported an incident to the police that had occurred a week prior on Mesa Blvd. The citizen just wanted police to be aware.

Phone Harassment: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business for a harassment call. A report was taken.

Nov. 11:

Suspicious/Vehicle: Officers responded to the parking lot of a W Pioneer Blvd business on a report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle is not listed stolen, and business was advised they can tow at own expense.

Alarm: An officer was dispatched to a Riverside Rd office building in reference to an alarm.

Wanted Person: Officer was conducting a follow-up interview on Desert Willow Ln concerning a disorderly call and was informed the male suspect had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The male was placed into custody and transport to the Mesquite Detention Facility.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the police station on a citizen assist.

Nov. 12:

Theft: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business on a reported theft of property.  Property was returned without incident.

Wanted Person: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business on a theft report.  Subject involved had a warrant for arrest.  Subject was taken into custody.

Wanted Person: Officers made contact with a adult male with a Fugitive Felony Warrant on Pulsipher Ln. The male was arrested without incident and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Wanted Person: Officer made contact with a male with an active warrant on E Pioneer Blvd. The male was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a Mesquite Springs Dr parking lot, reference a property damage report. The R/p requested a report be made due a small scrape made to the fender of his tow truck. Report completed.

Wanted Person: Officers conducted a traffic stop on W Pioneer Blvd on a vehicle for speeding and learned the driver had a warrant. The driver was subsequently arrested on the outstanding warrant.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on Hillside Dr who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Nov. 13:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An Officer responded to a Pebble Creek Bluff residence reference vandalism.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to W Falcon Ridge Pkwy reference a two-vehicle traffic accident, with no reported injuries. Officer completed a drivers exchange and issued the at fault driver a citation.

Theft: An officer took a report of a theft on Thistle St.  The officer spoke to most of the parties involved.  All persons involved have been identified.  The investigation is ongoing.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers contacted a male and female at a E Pioneer Blvd casino.  The male subject was arrested on an NHP bench warrant.

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Riverside Rd & Second South St and located marijuana in the vehicle. The owner of the drugs was cited and released. A passenger in the vehicle had an outstanding warrant; he was subsequently arrested on the warrant.

Nov. 14:

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the police station on a citizen assist and answered questions.

Found Property: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd grocery store reference found property. The Officer is currently attempting to locate the owners and return the property.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers were on location of a two car vehicle traffic collision at N Sandhill Blvd & E Old Mill Rd. A report was taken and one driver was issued a citation.

Business or License Problem: Officer responded to a W Pioneer Blvd office building to ensure a business had moved out at the request from City Hall.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a traffic accident on private property with no injuries on W Pioneer Blvd. A driver’s exchange form was completed.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officer recovered a plastic bottle containing cocaine and drug paraphernalia that was found at a W Mesquite Blvd casino.

TPO/Restraining Order/Subpoena: Officer responded to a Burns Ln residence and served court paperwork to an adult female.

TPO/Restraining Order/Subpoena: Officer responded to a Mesa Blvd business and served court paperwork to one adult female.

Lost Property: Officer responded to the police station to take a lost property report by telephone.

Theft: Officer responded to a Sandbar St residence regarding lost/stolen property.

Search Warrant: Detectives with the Mesquite Police Department conducted a search warrant on a Terrace Dr residence reference a narcotic investigation. Three adult males were subsequently arrested for sales of a controlled substance and other narcotic related charges.

Nov. 15:

Alarm: Police responded to an alarm at the high school and found a scheduled school activity happening.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a traffic accident on Turtleback Rd with no reported injuries and an accident report was completed.

Alarm: Officer responded to an alarm at the Middle school. School was checked and found to be secure, with no reported problems.

Keep the Peace: Officer responded to a Garnet Ln residence for a keep the peace, while an ex resident attempted to pick up some personal property. The ex resident did not have any help and said they would need to come back at a later time.

Phone Harassment: Officer responded to a Reber Dr residence for a report of harassing phone calls.  Both involved parties were spoken with and said the calls would stop.

VIN Number Inspection: Officer responded to a Falls Circle residence and completed a VIN inspection on a UTV, for a resident.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business parking lot for a report of a two vehicle accident. A vehicle bumped into the back of another vehicle causing minor damage.

Juvenile Problem: Officer responded to a report of a juvenile climbing on a roof of a Mesa Blvd residence. Parent was notified and aware.

Alarm: Police responded to an alarm at a W Pioneer Blvd business. The alarm was found to have been caused by a vendor.

Agency Assistance: An officer responded to a Lily Ln residence to assist the Mesquite Fire Department.

Trespassing: Officers were dispatched to a World Champion Way park, in reference to a disorderly subject. This subject was located and asked to leave the city property.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to Mesa Blvd on a report of a possible domestic battery. Upon arrival an investigation was started; the alleged victim had left the area and would not answer their cell phone. A report was taken.

Minor Gambling: Officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd casino for a minor who was gambling. The adult minor was issued a citation for Minor Gambling and released with a court date.

Theft: Police responded to a theft at an E Pioneer Blvd casino. One adult male was issued a citation for petit larceny and released with a court date.

Unknown Problem: Officer responded to a 911 cell phone hang-up, at a W Pioneer Boulevard, business parking lot. Officer was unable to locate anyone at the location.
