Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Nov. 2 – 8, 2014.

Nov. 2:

Keep The Peace: An officer was dispatched to a N Sandhill Blvd gas station to meet with the reporting person in reference to a keep the peace call.  Officers then conducted a welfare check on the former boyfriend of the reporting person.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to Pioneer Memorial Baseball Park for a report of damage to a vehicle, caused by a foul ball. Report was taken for insurance purposes.

Keep The Peace: Officer responded to a E Pioneer Blvd Casino and stood by while a trespassed male picked up his vehicle.

Citizen Assist: Officer assisted a male subject on Mesa Blvd with a blown out rear bicycle tire.

Dead Body: Police responded to a natural death at a Mesa Blvd residence. A report was taken.

Nov. 3:

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Sun Valley Dr residence reference a report of a possible domestic violence incident. The male and female involved stated they only had a verbal argument, and officers did not observe any signs of violence. An officer’s report was completed.

Person On Foot: Police located one adult female and one juvenile female out past curfew at W Pioneer Blvd & Oasis Blvd. The adult female was issued a citation for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and released with a court date.

VIN Number Inspection: Officer responded to a Mesa Springs Dr residence and conducted a VIN inspection on a side by side.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a report of property damage on W Old Mill Rd to the trail system lights. Information was gathered and a report taken.

Theft: Officer responded to a Woodbury Ln residence, reference a report of the theft of some yard care equipment. Information was obtained concerning the missing items and a report was completed.

Fraud: Officer responded to the police station on a report of a fraud. Investigation is ongoing.

Suspicious/Vehicle: An officer responded to a Falcon Ridge Pkwy gas station in reference to a suspicious vehicle, which was unregistered and parked in the parking lot for about a month.

Fraud: Officer responded to the police station on a report of fraud. A statement was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business for a report of battery involving two female subjects. Both females were interviewed and declined to pursue charges against each other.

Found Property: Officers responded to the police station to collect property wanting to be turned in for disposal.

Suspicious/Vehicle: An officer was dispatched to a Sun Valley Dr apartment complex in reference to a suspicious vehicle.

Agency Assistance: Officer responded to Oasis Blvd & Lasso St for a medical assist after an elderly male was found confused in his vehicle. Paramedics responded and transported the male for observation, and the family was notified.

Parking Problem: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd store parking lot in reference to a parking problem.

Agency Assistance: Police and fire and rescue responded to a reported overdose on Oakmont Ridge. One adult female was transported to Mesa View Hospital to receive medical and psychiatric evaluation.

Nov. 4:

Citizen Assist: Officer conducted a security check of an Eagle St residence, where the resident was hearing suspicious sounds outside.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to the police department lobby in reference to questions about golf cart operation in the city.

Unknown Problem: Officer responded to a Riverside Rd residence for a 911 hang-up at an apartment complex. The call was made by children playing on the phone.

Domestic Trouble: Officer responded to a Sun Valley Dr residence for a report of a possible domestic situation. Officer found a male and female to be involved in a verbal dispute. Parties were separated for the day.

Citizen Assist: Officer assisted a citizen on W Mesquite Blvd in obtaining medication from his residence. The citizen had previously agreed to leave the residence due to a dispute.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: An officer was dispatched to a Riverside Rd business parking lot in reference to an occupied stolen vehicle.  An adult male subject was later taken into custody for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of marijuana (under 1 ounce), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Suspicious/Person: Officer responded to Chuck Wagon Run for a report of two suspicious males going door to door.

VIN Number Inspection: Officer responded to the Mesquite Police parking lot and conducted a VIN inspection.

Welfare Check: Officer responded to a Mesa Blvd residence on a welfare check.

Business or License Problem: Officers responded to the Wheelwright Ct area in reference to a business license violation.

Theft: Theft of item off porch at apartment complex on Riverside Rd.

Nov. 5:

Civil Dispute: Officers responded to a Sun Valley Dr residence on a report of domestic violence. Officers determined it was a verbal dispute and advised both parties to be civil and attempt to get along.

Welfare Check: An Officer was dispatched to check the welfare of an elderly resident on Mesa Blvd.  The elderly resident was found to be in need of assistance.  The Officer coordinated assistance for him.

Threatening: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino reference an employee argument.

Nov. 6:

Minor Gambling: An officer issued a citation to a 20 year old female for gambling in a W Mesquite Blvd casino.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to City Hall on E Mesquite Blvd on a report of property damage.  Officer obtained written statements and the investigation continues.

Hit & Run: An officer responded to a Lolita Ln residence in reference to a hit and run on their motor vehicle. The suspect and vehicle are still at large.

Nov. 7:

Minor Gambling: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a minor gambling.  One female was arrested for minor gambling and obstructing.

False Information: While conducting a minor gambling investigation on E Pioneer Blvd officers contacted a adult male. The male provided officers with a false name.  The subject was arrested for obstructing a public officer.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to a E Pioneer Blvd convenient store reference a suspicious male. The male was later arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer took a report of property damage/vandalism on a Mesa Blvd vehicle. Investigation continues.

Phone Harassment: Officer responded to a Cottonwood Dr residence on a reported harassment.  The suspect was located and was issued a citation.

Keep The Peace: Officers responded to a W Hafen Ln business for a report of keep the peace request.

Weapon Offense: Officers responded to a report of shots fired near a city park on Second South St. The juvenile suspects fled the scene, but were later identified. This case is currently under investigation.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a disorderly trespassed male on property.  The male refused to cooperate and was taken into custody.

Nov. 8:

Traffic Violation: An officer conducted a traffic stop on W Pioneer Blvd. The adult male driver provided false information, and after an investigation he was transported to the Mesquite Detention Center booked for obstruction and multiple traffic offenses.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business in reference to property damage.  Photos were obtained and a report taken.

Traffic Violation: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle.  Vehicle fled from officers and after a brief pursuit the driver was taken into custody on Second South St for several traffic violations.

Theft: Report taken for a stolen ATV on W First South St. The vehicle was placed into the NCIC data system as stolen. No suspect(s) or witnesses to the event. Investigation is ongoing.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd gas station reference a trespass violator.

Noise Disturbance: Officers were dispatched to a Colleen Ct condominium complex, in reference to several intoxicated subjects being loud at the pool.
