If Mesquite golf is the game of choice, a lucky winner will enjoy a season of play virtually free by participating in the Virgin Valley Artists Association’s Lucky 2014 Raffle and Silent Auction.  A $3000-value golf package which includes multiple rounds of golf at Wolf Creek, Falcon Ridge, CasaBlanca, Palms, Oasis Canyons, and Conestoga courses, along with high-end golf accessories from Ready Golf, is the headliner in VVAA’s fundraiser raffle that benefits community art education programs.   With support from generous prize donors and ticket buyers, VVAA is raising funds to continue its diverse art education program through the coming year.   A total of 11 high-value prizes are offered, with raffle tickets priced at only $5 each.  Kim Whitesides original artwork, an iPad air2, theatre tickets, a “Best Seller Bundle,” a not-to-be-believed Mesquite dining package, along with beautiful original works of art will go to lucky ticket holders.

For those who wish to assure their chance of winning the prize of their choice, a second group of prizes are up for bid in a silent auction.  Thirteen lucky folks who place the highest bids will walk away with items ranging from distinctive handmade jewelry, artwork and sculptings, to a gourmet dinner for six, featuring wild game and fish, with lusciously fresh organic side dishes, sinful dessert and fine wines.   A “sweet treat” prize will give the top bidder a luscious homemade dessert each month throughout the next year, and one lucky gardener will win 15 desert plants and cacti.

Raffle tickets and silent auction bids are available at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery through Thursday, November 20, when all winners will be announced at a gala public reception that afternoon, 4-6pm.  The reception also honors the winners of the Lucky 13 National Small Works Exhibition that VVAA hosts.  The competition draws entries from throughout the U.S., offering $1300 in prizes.  Premier Properties and Equity Title have partnered with VVAA to sponsor this exhibition for three years running.

VVAA is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that operates the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery and a full-service pottery studio that is open to the public.  It supports free art classes for kids and seniors, and sponsors low-cost art and pottery classes and workshops.  VVAA presents free lectures and other cultural events, such as hosting Paul Benedict’s recent reading of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” VVAA supports Student Art Month at the gallery to display public school art each May, and offers scholarships to high school seniors who seek post-secondary training in the arts.

Please visit the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery at 15 West Mesquite Blvd, Mesquite Nevada, to enjoy the Lucky 13 Exhibition and purchase raffle tickets and silent auction bids.   Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.- 4 .pm. Call 702-346-1338 or go to their website www.mesquitefineartscenter.com for more information. Raffle ticket purchasers need not be present at the November 20 reception to win.
