Volleyball gals shut down Tech 3-0 win streak at 11 matches

The Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldog volleyball gals did not disappoint the home fans Wednesday night defeating the TECH Roadrunners 25-18, 25-18 and 25-19. The win was the Dawgs eleventh straight going into the 1-A Division Southern Region playoffs. The Bulldogs will either face Sierra Vista or Spring Valley High Schools at 4:30pm in the Sunrise Mountain High School gym on Tuesday November 4.

The Bulldogs started sluggishly in their first match 15-14 before Emma Barnum took over the net with four kills. Setter Janella Fiso finished the game with three straight service aces giving the Dawgs the win 25-18.

The Bulldogs dominated the next two games winning easily 25-18 and 25-19. Barnum led the Bulldogs with 11 kills for the night followed by Bernice Fiso with 7 kills and four aces. Setter Janella Fiso added 12 assists and 8 aces in another strong performance. The Lady Bulldogs finished the season with a 12-2 league record and 18-11 overall.
