The fledgling Southern Nevada Symphony Orchestra has been receiving new equipment for their upcoming performances according to Director/Conductor Dr. Selmer Spitzer. Spitzer, who has been conducting orchestras for many years, has decided to come out of retirement to build one in the Virgin Valley. Some of the new equipment includes two Bass Violins, Drums, Symbols, Tympani, Music Stands and more.

The orchestra will be comprised of musicians from Mesquite, Bunkerville, the Arizona Strip communities, Moapa Valley and Southern Utah. “There is a lot of talent out there and we are excited to bring their talents to the citizens of the area.” said Symphony Vice President Larry LeMieux.

The premier performance will be held at the Mesquite Community Theatre, lS0 N. Yucca St. on November 22 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for only $15 and will go on sale October 22 at Danielle’s Chocolates, Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery, Mesquite Chamber of Commerce, Have Boutique Will Travel and the Theatre Box Office (office hours 5-7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and one hour before show time.
