Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Oct. 19 – Oct. 25, 2014.

Oct. 19:

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd motel parking lot, in reference to a minor traffic accident.

Citizen Assist: Officer answered questions for motorist visiting from out of state. Nothing further.

Threatening: Officer responded to a Sun Valley Dr apartment complex, reference a verbal dispute between neighbors. Both parties advised to handle the situation with property management.

Traffic Violation: Officers responded to a report of a possible traffic offense on W Pioneer Blvd. The vehicle was located unoccupied on private property and the complainant was anonymous and did not want contact. Nothing further.

Theft from Vehicle: Citizen reported leaving his vehicle unlocked on Hillside Dr. Citizen returned to his vehicle a short time later and discovered his wallet and cell had been removed from the vehicle. A report was created.

Traffic Stop: Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation at Oasis Blvd & Kitty Hawk Dr. One adult male was issued citations for a traffic offense and possession of paraphernalia.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a family disturbance on Quail Run. During the course of investigation it was determined the incident was a breach of peace. The suspect was arrested.

Oct. 20:

Phone Harassment: Officer was dispatched to a report of harassment and requested to contact the complainant by telephone. Information was gathered and no charges were pressed.

Domestic Trouble: Officer responded to the hospital on Bertha Howe Ave on a report of possible domestic abuse. Spoke with patient and no evidence of criminal activity was found.

VIN Number Inspection: Officer completed a VIN inspection on Charles St.

Unknown Problem: Police responded to a 911 hang-up on an elevator phone at W Mesquite Blvd residence. Phone was found to have been accidentally bumped, causing it to call 911.

Parking Problem: An officer was dispatched to a Lonesome Dove Dr & Joshua Dr address in reference to a parking problem.

Fraud: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd store, in reference to some counterfeit money.

Fraud: Officer responded to the police station after a business owner reported an employee was stealing from him. The investigation is ongoing.

Phone Harassment: An officer was dispatched to a Muirfield Way residence in reference to a harassment call.

VIN Number Inspection: Officer responded to a Nolina Ridge residence on a VIN inspection

Unknown Problem: 911 hang up at business on N Sandhill Blvd. Caller was unknown, no known emergency.

Oct. 21:

Suicidal Person: Officers responded to a Pheasant Dr residence for a report of a male subject, who wanted to kill himself. Male was transported to hospital by Police, for an mental health evaluation.

Keep The Peace: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd hotel for a keep the peace, concerning a dispute involving a husband and wife. The dispute was found to be verbal only and the husband agreed to leave for a cooling off period.

Fraud: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business, reference the use of counterfeit bills to pay for an item. Reports and evidence was obtained and the crime is under investigation.

Burglary: Officer responded to a W First South St residence for a report of a burglary from the residence. Information was obtained and the crime is under investigation.

Agency Assistance: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd supermarket where a child had her arm stuck in a
grocery cart. The arm was freed and medical was denied by parent.

Domestic Trouble: Officer responded to a verbal dispute between husband and wife at a W Mesquite Blvd motel. Parties voluntarily separated, and a local pastor responded to assist the female.

Agency Assistance: An officer assisted Fire and Rescue with an elderly female on Riverside Rd who needed assistance.

Oct. 22:

Wanted Person: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a female for distracted driver at W Mesquite Blvd & W Falcon Ridge Pkwy. The female had an active warrant and was arrested without incident.

Oct. 23:

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers were dispatched to the hospital reference, a male juvenile being transported who was allegedly under the influence of a narcotic. The juvenile was cited and left in the care of a parent and the staff of the hospital.

Found Property: Officer responded to a N Grapevine Rd apartment complex regarding found medications. Officer took custody of the medications for disposal.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Complainant requested the police to report damage property on Mesquite Springs Dr. Report taken.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer took a report of a single vehicle accident with no reported injuries on Hillside Dr.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Complainant requested the police to report damage property on Mesquite Springs Dr. Report taken.

Traffic Stop: Officers were unable to positively identify a female during a traffic stop at the I15 SB 120 Off-Ramp and she was taken into custody for traffic offenses.

Oct. 24:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to the area of Bulldog Drive on a report of a three car accident, with no reported injuries.  Officers conducted an investigation and one driver was issued a citation.

Oct. 25:

Trespassing: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino reference a trespass violator.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a Mountain View Dr. residence in reference to an intoxicated male. All parties were separated for the night. No charges were filed.

Alarm: Officer responded to a Pinnacle Ct business alarm. Business was found secured, nothing suspicious.

Panhandling: Officer responded to a E Pioneer Blvd business on a report of an adult male asking customers for money. One adult male was arrested for panhandling, obstruction of public officer, and drug paraphernalia.

Suspicious/Vehicle: 24 hour noticed placed on a vehicle parked along side the roadway at Marilyn Pkwy & Mesquite Springs Dr.

Embezzlement: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd business on a reported embezzlement.  A statement was obtained from the victim and the investigation continues.

Citizen Assist: Officer spoke with a Pomegranate Trail homeowner while patrolling through neighborhoods with homes under construction.

Trespassing: Officer was cancelled en route to a report of trespassing at a W Mesquite Blvd casino.

Alarm: Officer responded to an alarm at an elementary school on Woodbury Ln. Building was found to be secure, high winds were reported throughout the day.

Animal Bite: Animal Control Officer responded to Mesa View Hospital for a report of a dog bite.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a domestic battery on Ocotillo Ln. The offender was arrested and transported to jail.

Missing Person: Officers responded to Quail Run for a report of a missing elderly male.

Noise Disturbance: Officer responded to a Whitey Lee Ln residence for a report of loud music, at 6:00 a.m. Music was turned down and a warning issued.
