Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Oct. 12 – Oct. 18, 2014.

Oct. 12:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to an Ivy Lee Crest residence for a report of problems of water coming from an unoccupied property and causing damage. Information was given on how to have the problem corrected.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer was dispatched to an Ivy Lee Crest address in reference to a suspicious vehicle/circumstances call.

Theft: Officer responded to a Pinnacle Ct business for a report of the theft of cash from the cash register. Information was obtained for the report and the theft is under investigation.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd residence for a verbal dispute, between a husband and wife. The male left the property for a cooling off period.

Driving Under the Influence: An officer stopped a vehicle at W Pioneer Blvd & Siena Ln for a traffic offense.  The driver was given field sobriety tests because he was suspected of driving while intoxicated.  The driver was later warned and released for illegal U-turn.

Dead Body: Officer responded to local residence and assisted Mesquite Rescue an adult male subject who had stopped breathing.  This person was transported to the Mesa View Hospital.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Crest View Dr residence for a report of a domestic battery. After an investigation a female subject was arrested for domestic battery.

Graffiti: An officer located graffiti on a Riverside Rd business. The graffiti was documented and an officer’s report was completed. The investigation is ongoing.

Graffiti: An officer located graffiti on an E Old Mill Rd city park structure. The graffiti was documented and an officer’s report was completed. The investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 13:

Alarm: Officer responded to a residential intrusion alarm on Cottonwood Dr. Alarm was found to be a false alarm, caused by the resident.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to an Eagle St residence for a citizen assist.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Property damage (rock chip) occurred to a city vehicle while on the highway.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the police station on a citizen assist. Extra patrol was requested in the complainant’s neighborhood.

Phone Harassment: Officer responded to the police station on a report of harassment. The complainant wanted to know what her options were regarding a neighbor she is having problems with. She did not want to file a report at this time.

Suspicious/Vehicle: An officer was dispatched to a Canal St residence in reference to a suspicious vehicle.

Theft: Officer responded to a report of shoplifting at a W Pioneer Blvd business and a report was taken.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer was flagged down in the parking lot of a W Pioneer Blvd business where two vehicles backed into each other. Driver’s exchange forms were completed and given to each party.

Driving Under the Influence: Officer responded to a report of a male and female inside a moving vehicle on N Grapevine Rd with open containers of beer. Reported vehicle was found, parked and vacant.

Hit & Run: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business parking lot for a report of a hit and run accident. Officer located the owners of both involved vehicles and it was determined that neither vehicle had sustained any damage.

Lost Property: Officer responded to Casa Grande Cir for a report of lost/stolen purse and a report was taken.

Person on Foot: An officer stopped a male and a female on a bicycle for a traffic violation on Jody Ct & Leavitt Ln. The adult male was arrested for an active warrant and drug possession charges.

Welfare Check: Officers responded to a Goldenrod Ln residence for a welfare check. No contact was made with the owner of the residence.

Oct. 14:

Threatening: Officer responded to a Valley View Circle residence on a citizen assist. One adult male was instructed to have no contact with the complainant.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a two vehicle non injury accident, on W Hafen Lane. An accident report was completed and a citation issued.

Agency Assistance: An officer was dispatched to Vincen Leavitt Ave in Bunkerville to assist an outside agency.

Citizen Assist: Officer was flagged down by a motorist at Oasis Blvd & Kitty Hawk Dr and assisted with directions.

Agency Assistance: Agency assist in recovering stolen property.

Panhandling: Officers responded to a report of panhandling in the parking lot of a W Pioneer Blvd business. Contact was made with one adult male who was warned for the ordinance violation and moved on.

Citizen Assist: Officer assisted motorist with directions after being flagged down at Turtleback Rd & W Pioneer Blvd.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a non- injury accident on Mesquite Blvd. Accident report was taken and citation issued.

Domestic Trouble: A male and female on W Mesquite Blvd were involved in a physical altercation where the male received physical non life threatening injuries. As a result of the investigation the female was found to be the aggressor and was arrested for domestic battery.

Theft:  Officers responded to a theft which had just occurred at a W Pioneer Blvd restaurant.  Officers began a theft investigation and were able to successfully locate the suspects involved.  The restaurant asked that criminal charges not be filed on the suspects if they returned and paid for their food. The suspects returned to the restaurant and paid for their food.

Juvenile Problem: Officers were dispatched to a juvenile problem which occurred after children got off of a school bus at Muirfield Way.  The Officer took a report from all parties involved.  The school district had been contacted.  The Officer contacted the School Resource Officer regarding the incident.

Identity Theft: Citizen on Hardy Way asked for assistance from the Police to help obtain information from the credit card fraud department.

Oct. 15:

Assault/Battery: Officer’s responded to Bertha Howe Ave for a report of a battery between to juveniles.

Traffic Accident, w/ Injuries: Officers responded to a report of a single vehicle accident at Oasis Blvd & Carrara Ct. Driver was transported to the hospital for minor injuries and the accident report was completed.

Vandalism: Officer responded to a Oakmont Rdg residence on a report of damage to their vehicle. Officer took photos and a report was taken.

Disorderly Conduct: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd supermarket on a report of a disorderly male. Subject left the area prior to officer’s arrival.

Trespassing: Officers arrested a male who was read the trespass warning and refused to leave a N Sandhill Blvd property.

Oct. 16:

Battery on Person: Officers contacted a local citizen reference a simple battery on W Pioneer Blvd.  A report was taken and a local male was issued a citation for the aforementioned charge.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a trespass violator.

Oct. 17:

Theft: A female possibly had a laptop computer stolen from her vehicle on Mesa Blvd. Officer is attempting to identify any and all suspects involved with the theft.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer took a report of a two-vehicle accident on E Pioneer Blvd with no injuries.

Burglary: Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary on N Grapevine Rd. Officers and Detectives processed the scene and took the report. Investigation is ongoing.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a report of a stuck vehicle at Turtleback Rd & Agave Rd. After an investigation the adult male was arrested for DUI.

Theft from Vehicle: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd restaurant reference theft from a vehicle.

Minor Gambling: An Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for an identification check on a female.  After checking her identification, she was cited for minor gambling and released.

Oct. 18:

Lost Property: Officer responded to a report of lost property on Falcon Ridge Pkwy. The complainant was traveling out of town and unable to make a written report. Information was gathered over the phone.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a suspicious report at a Haley Way residence.

Alarm: Officer responded to a Falcon Ridge Pkwy business on an alarm. Contact was made with an employee and everything was okay.

Suspicious/Person: Officer responded to a Mesa Blvd neighborhood on a report of a suspicious male hiding in the bushes. Contact was made with the complainant, a description gathered, and the male was located a short time later. No crime has been committed at this time.

Alarm: Officer responded to a Paloma Circle residence, for a burglary alarm; It was later determined the owner had set the alarm off by mistake.

Alarm: Officer responded to a Cimarron Ct business alarm and found the alarm to be an employee error.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a private property accident on E Old Mill Rd where a vehicle backed into a parked vehicle. Information exchange complete.

Suspicious/Person: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd credit union for a suspicious circumstance.

Juvenile Problem: An officer was dispatched to the intersection of W Mesquite Blvd & Riverside Rd in reference to a report of a juvenile problem.

Suspicious/Person: Officer made contact with an adult male hitchhiking at the freeway entrance of I15 SB 120 On-Ramp. Male was warned and moved on.

Keep The Peace: Officer responded to a Rodeo Ln residence for a keep the peace call.  Officer remained on scene, while one family member picked up property from another family member.

Alarm: Officers responded to a Greens Way residence alarm and made contact with the home owner. Everything was found to be okay.

Disorderly Conduct: An officer responded to a Pulsipher Ln residence in reference to a disorderly subject. An adult female subject, who was intoxicated, was given a ride home from the neighbor.

Fire: Officers assisted fire department with a reported room fire at a W Mesquite Blvd hotel room. Investigation from fire department ruled the fire accidental.

Graffiti: Officer responded to a report of a male writing graffiti on a wall at Rodeo Ln & Second South St. Officer located the male, but did not locate any graffiti.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a Joshua Dr residence regarding a report of stolen property.
