Find a Sober Ride This Halloween or Police Will Find One For You
Statewide Officers Focus on Drivers and Riders Under the Influence Oct. 19-Nov. 3

Halloween can be as much fun for adults as it is for children. Costume parties are often the highlight of adult get-togethers that involve spirits of the drinking kind.

But making the decision to drive impaired, whether it is alcohol or drugs, can quickly turn fun times into a devastating experience with lasting consequences.

Law enforcement officers are increasing enforcement patrols throughout the state Oct. 19 through Nov. 3 looking for impaired drivers as part of the Joining Forces program.

In 2013, 131 motorists were killed in automobile crashes; during that same time period, 53 Nevada motorcyclists were killed in crashes in the state.

Law Enforcement officers encourage motorists to dial 911 if they witness drivers or riders who are impaired.

Driving impaired can cost lives and cost you financially. Citations for driving under the influence (DUI) can cost upwards of $10,000 when legal fees, court fines and higher insurance rates are factored in.
